Mkhondo Municipality, which is a gateway to the Province of Mpumalanga from Kwa-Zulu Natal and Swaziland, seeks to appoint highly motivated self-starters and visionaries to the extremely challenging positions of:
DEPARTMENT: CORPORATE SERVICES
ICT INTERNS X1
Twenty-four (24) Months fixed Term Contract
Ref: CS/ICT/INTERN/01
Applications are invited from dynamic people, who have recently obtained a relevant three-year tertiary qualification in Diploma or Degree in Information and Communication Technology/ Computer Sciences or related field. The project is an initiative of the National Treasury’s Financial Management and Budget Reform Programme and is geared towards capacitating young graduates for a career in Local Government Information and Communication Technology.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
· Grade 12
· Diploma or Degree in Information and Communication Technology/ Computer Sciences or related field
· Computer Literacy
· Preference will be given to candidates residing within the Municipal boundaries
· Must have not participated in any internship programme in the past or similar programme
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Good Communication Skills (Written and Verbal)
· Ability to work long hours and meet deadlines
· Good leadership skills
· Be computer literate
· Attention to detail
· Good interpersonal skills
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assisting users with basic computer hardware and software problems by identifying and resolving common faults.
· Installing computers, monitors, keyboards, printers and other approved ICT equipment according to technical requirements.
· Connecting and configuring computers and peripherals to the municipal network under supervision.
· Checking network cables, switches, routers and related equipment for basic faults and reporting problems to the ICT Supervisor.
· Assisting users with experiencing internet, shared drive or network access problems and escalating complex issues.
· Monitoring and reporting network-related faults, outages and recurring connectivity problems to support timely resolution.
Remuneration: Stipend: R 7000- R7500 Total to Company Cost.

The project is an initiative of the National Treasury’s Financial Management and Budget Reform Programme and is geared towards capacitating young graduates for a career in Local Government Finance.

· Grade 12
· Diploma or Degree in Financial Management, Accounting, Economics, Internal Auditing and Taxation or Relevant equivalent qualification
· Computer Literacy
· Preference will be given to candidates residing within the Municipal boundaries
· Must have not participated in any internship programme in the past or similar programme
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assisting with preparing schedules, registers and financial administration reports to support effective financial management.
· Assisting with capturing expenditure transactions on the financial system under supervision to ensure accurate recording of municipal expenditure.
· Assisting with maintaining payment registers and related documentation to support proper financial controls.
· Preparing cut-off list for all services for non-paying customers
· Performing data cleansing and verification for all customer accounts
· Maintaining a register of all late estate consumer accounts.
· Assisting with processing and recording revenue-related transactions to ensure that municipal income is accurately accounted for.
· Collecting data and assisting in processing estimated tariffs and budget related policies.
· Assisting in compiling and processing of mid-year budget and performance review.
