REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 10. - Lifeguard Certificate. - Level 1 First aid certificate. - Swimming skills is a must. - Ability to remain calm and act quickly. - Excellent interpersonal, communication & office management skills. - Knowledge of swimming pool rules & regulations. - Valid Driver’s license will be an added advantage. - 1 Year relevant experience as a lifeguard.
DUTIES
Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours. - Regularly treat the pool with the correct amount of chemicals and ability to operate swimming pool system. - Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout shift. - Directing swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions. - Closely monitoring weather reports to make sure guests remain safe. - Organizing and overseeing pool activities. - Providing learn to swim lessons and coaching when applicable. - Maintaining a clean pool environment. - Check the pH levels and adjust chlorine levels to maintain a hygienic swimming environment. - Checking guests in and out, enforcing pool ability rules and rotating between Lifeguard chairs to watch over swimmers and perform rescues if need be. – During offseason be able to perform sport and recreation activities and any other related Ad Hoc tasks and duties as requested by management (supervisor) from time to time.

SALARY: R53.77 per hour (Contact Period: 01 October 2026 to 30 September 2027)

REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12. Bachelor’s degree in public administration/ law/political science/social sciences/economics/industrial psychology/human resource management or equivalent NQF 7 qualification. Code EB (08) driver’s license. Meet MFMA minimum competency requirement or qualify for dispensation -Statutory/regulated certification specific to vocation - Proven financial management skills. Computer literate (MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint). Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Proven management skills including analytical thinking, empowerment, adaptability, communication, conceptual skills, leadership skills, presentation skills, conflict & stress management, negotiation skills. Project Management & Financial Management skills & experience. Competent in interpretation, implementation and enforcement of relevant legislation and applicable policies. Five to ten (05 – 10) years relevant local government experience of which 5 years must be at middle management level, reporting to a Municipal Manager or Executive Director.
DUTIES
Oversee operational/Strategic duties within Office of the Municipal Manager. Ensure efficient and effective services within the Office of the Municipal Manager. Coordinate office staff activities and provide assistance where needs/gaps are identified. Monitor performance through the departmental SDBIP applicable to the section. Responsible for monitoring PMDS of subordinates. Maintain relationships, develop communication structures, align council policies and practices. Gather information by way of questionnaires and needs analysis to improve services. Project management, implement, coordinate and manage assigned capital projects on infrastructure development as approved in the IDP and annual Capital Budget. Provide oversight of assigned infrastructure development projects specified by the Municipal Manager. Manage the performance management system of professional consultants and relevant contractors on these projects - Intergovernmental Relations: Attending and representing the Municipal Manager at various IGR Forums including Local, District, Provincial and National engagements promoting good governance. Stakeholder holder management included but not limited to representing the Municipal Manager, with mandate obtained, at various key stakeholder engagements including local developments, key business partners, industry business chambers including District, Provincial, and National levels. Attend to critical complaints received and disposing of same through applicable processes and procedures prescribed. Attend and coordinate various committees, as directed by the Municipal Manager, representing the office of the Municipal Manager. Coordinate effective communication on behalf of the Office of the Municipal Manager. Submission of statutory/mandatory reports within timeframes. Support in the development of strategic planning processes with Mayoral Committee, HOD’s, and Management levels 1-4 - Assist with the development of pre-feasibility studies on special projects - Financial Management - ensure compliance with the requirements of the MFMA and Councils procurement policies and applicable regulations - Logistics Management and Assets – manage all assets, assigned ensuring the safe keeping, maintenance and utilisation thereof - Personnel management – inform the sections Staff Establishment based on operational staffing requirements - Perform any other related ad hoc tasks as and when required or instructed by Management. Oversight of annual reporting drafting, reviewing and submission; Coordinate and facilitate Performance Management of Managers reporting to the Municipal Manager
SALARY R1 206 522.16 p.a. (Total package inclusive of all benefits)
