Synopsis

To evaluate and present applications for funding and structure deals that contribute towards unit objectives and industry development goals. This would include performing the financial and/or technical and/or marketing due diligence functions and ensuring risk identification and mitigation.

 

Qualification and Experience

Minimum qualification: Relevant commercial or technical Honours degree

Chartered Accountants and or Agriculture qualifications will be advantageous

5-8 years related experience of which 2-3 years should be in assessment as well as closing of transactions (i.e. management of approved deals up to first drawdown, including ensuring timely conclusion of legal agreements).

Declared competent in two due diligence disciplines (Marketing, Technical or Financial).

Grounded in one of the above due diligence disciplines.

Experience in interpretation of financial statements.

Sector-specific knowledge would be advantageous.

Knowledge of financial products as used by IDC.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial / Shareholder Returns

  • Evaluate and effectively structure transactions with detailed application of IDC financing instruments (where applicable/appropriate)

Internal / Operational Processes

  • Evaluate applications for finance (financial, technical or marketing disciplines) through conducting due diligences/investigations
  • Deal structuring - Designing and negotiating the financial, EHS, legal and other relationships between the client and IDC for the specific deal (where applicable)
  • Risk identification and mitigation
  • Participate in due diligences
  • Deal Optimisation - Ensuring that the deal is aligned with the strategic objectives of the unit and will contribute to meeting industry development goals
  • Account management function up to first disbursement
  • Prepare and submit basic assessments and comprehensive credit proposals that meets the IDC funding requirements.
  • Ensuring accurate client data management

Customer Focus & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain meaningful relationships with enquirers, applicants and portfolio clients in conjunction with different support functions in the IDC.
  • To effectively interact with different SBU’s and departments in order to fulfil the process requirements related to any specific business transaction.
  • Manage and enhance the levels of service and communication to ensure the provision of client service excellence.
  • Liaise, communicate and promote the unit externally

  • Drive and manage own development to enhance own competencies
  • Participate in knowledge sharing in the team and cross functional
  • Mentoring and acting as a coach to Business Analysts

Job Description

Proactively and systematically collect and transform data into information, knowledge and insights in professional reports formats (i.e. actionable visual displays, reports, insights & predictions) to assist CSG and IDC in making better fact-based decisions. Identifying relevant trends through analysis, interpreting and converting them into meaningful insights that highlight opportunities and challenges to improve the CSG business model & the Corporation’s strategic plans.

 

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Statistical and Data Analysis.
  • Portfolio Management and / or Accounting and / or IT & Technology development to drive business applications
  • Formal Microsoft and / or similar related certifications will be an added advantage2-5 years relevant experience in data analysis or portfolio management.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence reporting, working with databases and data warehouse environments, with accurate data and information. Experience will be preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in performing analytical assessments
  • Knowledge and experience of CSG & PICSS (or similar) internal processes, systems, and procedures
  • Demonstratable experience in working with appropriate tools, technology, methodologies, and best business practices.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

The main duties of this role will include, but will not be limited to: -


Analysis and Insights Generation

−Identify data sources to perform analyses

−Compile data models to perform analyses

−Verifying the integrity of data to ensure completeness and accuracy

Dashboard Building on Technology Platforms

−Non- complex concept design, building and maintain dashboard and provide applicable insights

−Develop and implement dashboards, analysis [including predictive], standard reports proactive notifications when set tolerance levels are breached

−Work with the IT teams to understand existing internal tools and data warehouses and to identify data quality and reliability improvements and to establish best practices.


CSG Performance Tracking

−Identify challenges in input reports and how to address the issues.

−Update and enhance input report to enable improved reporting


CSG (IDC) Technology Platforms and Automation

−Identify the data requirements from SAP and the transformation of data requirements.

−Limited Power BI, Power Apps & Forms Development

−Understanding of the IDC data environment

−Assist in the development of the automation tools required, provide feedback and make small edits


Collateral Management

−Have/Develop a basic understanding of the collateral process and be able to provide support on all enquiries to internal stakeholders

Prepare draft reports based on analysis performed for various committees

Present non-complex presentation/ reports


CSG and IDC Systems & Procedures and Control Environment

−Identify and propose improvements to the existing S&P


Stakeholders Data, Information Gathering and Reporting (including ad hoc)

−Compile data for shareholder (DTIC) or broader government and other external stakeholders.

−Develop the approach of compiling unstructured data.

−Assist in compiling and review data from surveys and other unstructured data sources

−Draw draft conclusions on datasets


Job Requirements

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

•MS Office proficiency (Advanced Excel and MS PowerPoint),

•Working in and developing reports in Microsoft Power BI and use of SAP platforms

•Proficiency in other Microsoft application suites and platforms like Power Apps, Forms, Sharepoint, Azure, Dynamics 365 will be preferred
