GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES PENSION FUND (GEPF)
INVESTMENT MONITORING AND VALUATION SPECIALIST
With more than 1.2 million active members and around 550,000 pensioners and beneficiaries as well as assets worth more than R2.3 trillion, the Government Employees Pension Fund is a defined benefit fund that manages pensions and related benefits on behalf of government employees in South Africa. It is the largest pension fund in South Africa and Africa. The GEPF is currently seeking to appoint a suitably qualified individual with the relevant experience to fill the below role within the Investments Department in Centurion.
The purpose of this role is to enhance GEPF’s investment monitoring process and analyse investments. This includes the asset valuations, middle office function, mandate compliance, investment research and investment administration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Review unlisted valuations.
• Provide investment middle-office liaison support
• Monitor and evaluate investment mandate compliance.
• Conduct ESG impact reviews.
• Undertake investment research.
• Provide investment administration and oversight.
Qualifying Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Finance, Investment Management, Mathematical Sciences, or other related Quantitative field is required.
• Postgraduate qualification or progress towards a professional qualification such as CFA, CAIA, or CA will be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years’ of experience in investment valuations, investment management, finance, or unlisted investment Management, institutional investing, investment analysis and portfolio monitoring with exposure to investment valuations, investment accounting, performance, and mandate compliance monitoring processes.
• Experience in listed markets, private equity, fund of funds or multi-manager is an added advantage.

• Quantitative techniques for analysing and valuing unlisted investments
• Stakeholder Management and Relationship Building.
• Expertise in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating investment risks.
