Duties :

  • The post is a 4 year joint-appointment as a registrar in psychiatry at the Department of Psychiatry at UP and Steve Biko Academic hospital. The successful candidate must provide clinical services to mental health care users at Steve Biko Academic Hospital, complete the required rotations at Weskoppies Hospital, render outreach services to the Tshwane District hospital and related clinics, participate in the department’s academic programmes, research activities and clinical administrative work. Successful candidates will be expected to rotate through all the training units as per the HPCSA, CMSA, and the University of Pretoria’s MMed Psychiatry requirements, within the 4 years.

  • The Chief Cardiovascular Perfusionist will have to manage their team to overlook primarily three subdisciplines, adult cardiac surgery, paediatric cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery for cardiopulmonary bypass, cell saving, intra-aortic balloon pumps and ECMO. He/she should be available for on-call services for emergency cases that require theatre. The incumbent should ensure that CMJAH establishes a viable and sustainable outreach programme to designated and cluster hospitals. In addition, the incumbent will be expected to expand the scope of cardiovascular perfusion beyond the Cardiothoracic arena, to include cell saving in other disciplines, establishing vibrant ECMO programs such as, ECPR and Ex-vivo organ perfusion. The incumbent and his or her team will be expected to actively participate and develop protocols in all aspects of state patient solid organ transplantation and assist in implementation of solid organ transplantation. The incumbent and team will be expected to ensure adequate supplies of consumables so as not to hinder service delivery. The incumbent will be expected to develop the curriculum for training of new perfusionists. The incumbent will be expected to ensure that knowledge transfer, culture of academia, CPD activities are upheld at all times. The incumbent will be expected to promote collaboration with other national and international units.

Duties :

  • Establish a system to monitor the implementation of NdoH and GDoH Infection Prevention Control policy guidelines and facilitate the review of existing protocols/SOPs. Facilitate IPC research, surveillance, monitoring and evaluation of Infection Prevention and control program. Participate in Provincial and Cluster IPPC Committee structures. Revive and support existing institutional Infection Prevention and Control Committee. Duties :

  • Inventory management processes, including amongst others issuing physical and theoretical stock in line with FIFO, LIFO, LEFO methods. Proper stock movement recording. Conduct sample stock take, stock control as per allocation and period stock take process as per regulations. Ensuring prompt replenishment of stock as per minimum and maximum stock levels and compile monthly stock reconciliation. Demand & Acquisition management processes, including registration of end-user requirement, RFQ administration process for goods and services, generation of shopping carts for purchase orders and expediting of Purchase Orders. Handling of end-user queries and reporting on progress. Support the web cycle and transit office with functions as requested or allocated like receiving, verification of deliveries and capturing of GRN/ GRV/ on SAP/ SRM including updating of weekly receipts report. Handle queries presented to the department and provided report on relevant functions as allocated. Manage the 0-9 file and support the Expediting Office. Compile and submit reports as per relevant function and support the Stores Assistant with queries.
