POST: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position to be permanent based on the government notice number 47370 of 18 October 2022 and notice number 46470 of 17 August 2022.
ALL INCLUSIVE PACKAGE: Total annual remuneration package as per Government Gazette number. 6967 of 14 April 2026 - Minimum: R1,291,138, Midpoint: R1,353,856 and Maximum: R1,419,621. A remote allowance of up to 7% may be payable.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: An appropriate and recognized NQF level 7 qualifications in the fields of Accounting, Finance and Economics, or equivalent financial qualification. A Minimum five (5) years’ experience at middle management level in a financial management environment preferably in the local government environment. A valid code 08 (EB) drivers’ licence. Registration with SAICA or a similar professional body will be an added advantage.
The successful candidate must meet the minimum competency requirements for municipal Chief Financial Officers (SAQA ID No. 48965) in terms of the Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Levels. A candidate who does not yet meet these requirements must obtain the competency within 18 months of appointment. Advanced computer literacy and proven experience in managing financial accounting systems are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic financial planning and budgeting aligned to the IDP, oversight of budgeting, accounting, reporting, cash flow, debt, assets, and supply chain management, ensure compliance with MFMA and other applicable legislation, provide strategic financial advice to Council and the Accounting Officer, ensure sound financial governance and reporting to all spheres of government.

A successful candidate will be required to enter a performance management contract.
