REQUIREMENTS : An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Tourism/ Hospitality/Resort Management. A maximum of 3-4 year experience in Tourism/Hospitality/Resort Management environment. Computer literacy and valid driver’s license. Good understanding and knowledge of the prescripts governing the tourism and resort management. The successful candidate to demonstrate the following competencies/skills; customer oriented, project Management, financial and coordination, report writing skills, planning and organizing skills, time management, team player and have good interpersonal skills, attention to detail. 

 

DUTIES : To ensure proper financial management including maximizing of revenue collection at the resort; appoint an official who will assist the manager with collection and deposit of money whenever he or she is unable to do so, ensure that the revenue collected is kept safe and deposited to the bank daily or whenever it exceeds R2000, together with the admin clerk, reconcile the money received daily and ensure that receipt books balance, ensure that the keys for the money safe are kept safe. Responsible for effective management and maintenance (including infrastructural development and refurbishment) of facilities to ensure safe environment for the visitors at the resorts; conduct inspection in the following resort facilities: Storerooms: are used for storage of extra linen, catering suppliers, gardening equipment (grass mowing machines/tractors) etc, Chalets: to ensure that the furniture and other usable items in different chalets are in good conditions, recorded number of each item is correct and the asset lists for each chalets are timeously updated. Camping Sites: ensure proper maintenance, grass cutting, sites and swimming pools cleaning etc. In case of any emergencies (i.e. gyser failure), she/he liaise with the service provider in that particular area for assistance following the Departmental SCM processes. Implement the commercialization strategy of the Resort; liaise with local municipalities and marking association in respective areas to put their resort/facilities in the market space, partake in the annual joints like Tourism Indaba (Durban) and the Gate-Away Show (Johannesburg) for exhibitions and make their facilities known. Partake in grading committee meetings for the proper grading of their respective facilities, conduct research and make recommendations on tariffs for the department. Ensure proper hospitality management and pleasant leisure of guests; attend to resort service bookings on arrival which have not been pre-booked, ensure that chalets are properly prepaid (checking of inventories, cleaning etc.) for the arrival of guests, welcoming guests, including arrival formalities and queries, handing of keys and ensuring that payments were made, attending to client’s queries and complaints during their stay and referring such to relevant officials, attending to client’s complaints and queries and ensure that they are resolved timeously, develop clients satisfaction surveys to ensure that proper feedback is received and improvements are made thereof. Supervision of human, financial and asset resource of the Resort; draw and discuss monthly schedule with staff to ensure the each shift is well informed of what is expected of them, pool cars; ensure serviceability of the cars, proper management of petrol cards and logbooks as well as signing-off trip authorities, plan, monitor and assess staff performance as well as management of leave, ensure personnel development (identify and coordinate required training) of the down line staff, apply discipline measure accordingly. Perform and manage administrative and related functions.

DUTIES To conduct audit assignments; undertake auditing according to the audit methodology and IIA standards, collect, analyse interpret and document information to determine the following: whether the collection/expenditure of funds is regular and correctly accounted for, whether state money and goods have been applied advantageously and efficiently and whether there are irregularities, deviations and shortcomings by applying, amongst others audit procedures and techniques, interpreting laws and other instructions; determine procedures and their objectives, examining and comparing book entries, accounts, statements, vouchers and other records, visit offices where cash, stock and other items of value are received, kept, issued or paid to compare physical stock on hand with returns shown in the records. To assist in preparing draft reports to be reviewed by management; write reports on audit findings, point out irregularities, deviations and shortcomings, write audit queries, submissions and letters.
