SPECIALIST SOFTWARE ENGINEER (MAGIC: FIXED TERM CONTRACT) ICT OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (Pretoria)

Description

Purpose of the Job:

To apply system solutions to business problems through the design and programming of automated systems. To configure, analyze, design, develop, and maintain in-house developed applications to support business processes and functions. The person appointed to this position will report to the Senior Manager: Applications and Maintenance Support.


Key Performance Areas:

•Leverage knowledge of application architecture, databases and development techniques to design technical solutions to satisfy business requirements;

•Program applications according to specifications and design.  The various modules must integrate with business processes. Test the functionality with special data in the development environment. Demonstrate new functionality and assist users with testing in a test environment;

•Fix problems with applications and change functionality according to changing business requirements. Work according to the change management procedures of the ICT Department;

•Develop interfaces and link different components with each other and with workflow;

•Train users to utilise in-house applications and provide general support to all application related problems;

•Keep up to date with new developments in the ICT industry (e.g. programming techniques, best practices, etc.) by studying technical manuals and magazines and attending special training.

Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or another related field or equivalent qualification with at least 7 years’ development experience using the Magic development platform OR at least 10 years’ development experience using the Magic development platform in the absence of a formal qualification. 

ITIL Foundation certification would be advantages.

Exposure to integration services (e.g. SOAP, REST etc.) would be advantages.

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FINTECH DEPARTMENT (Pretoria)

Description

Purpose of the Job:

To provide the Fintech Department with administrative support to enable the Department to perform its duties effectively.


Key Performance Areas:

•Ensuring that office support and management services are provided to the Head and staff of FinTech.

•Liaise with secretaries and senior staff of financial institutions, industry representative bodies, government, regulatory authorities, community organisations, service providers, project partners and staff of the FSCA.

•Maintenance of the FinTech intranet page.

•Ensuring an accessible central filing system is maintained in accordance with the filing key of the Fintech.

•Keeps records of all Fintech companies and updates the spreadsheet with the current status.

•Ensures that meetings are scheduled in stakeholders’ calendars and venue booked.

•Responds to requests in professional manner and ensures information requested by the public is dispatched.

•Attend to all queries related to projects.Provide day to day administrative support to the IFWG Innovation Hub’s  Regulatory Sandbox, Regulatory Guidance Unit and Innovation Accelerator.

•Ensures that the media releases are published by the Communications’ Team.

•Prepare information packages for clients/consumers.

•Prepare documents for meetings.

•Respond to requests for information about the FinTech department.

•Respond to all business queries.

•Responsible for the logging of calls for services needed from Supply Chain Unit (SCU) and ICT.

•Work closely with new FinTech startup companies to understand and prioritize business goals and information needs.

•Liaise with various external stakeholders to ensure that a relevant solution is identified to conform to the business needs of the FSCA.

•Responds and attend to escalations and queries raised.

Description

Purpose of the Job:

The successful candidate will provide professional, efficient and confidential secretarial and administrative support to the Divisional Executive: Corporate Services. The role includes managing the Executive’s diary, meetings, travel, documents, records, stakeholder engagements and office governance processes. The successful candidate will report directly to the Divisional Executive: Corporate Services.


Key Performance Areas:


•Manage the Divisional Executive’s diary, appointments, meetings and access to the Executive’s Office.

•Coordinate meeting venues, agendas, supporting documents and meeting packs.

•Prepare accurate correspondence, reports, submissions and presentations.

•Maintain effective physical and electronic filing and records-management systems.

•Process financial, travel and related claims accurately and timeously.

•Arrange domestic and international travel, including flights, accommodation, transport, visas and foreign currency.

•Screen telephone calls, manage messages and respond to emails as instructed.

•Handle and redirect stakeholder complaints and enquiries within prescribed turnaround times.

•Maintain governance calendars, action registers, deadlines, approvals and compliance records.

•Check documents for completeness, correct approvals, version control and supporting information.

•Ensure that governance records and evidence are properly filed and available for audits or reviews.
