Description
Purpose of the job:
To Design, build, expand, and optimize the data pipelines, as well as optimize data flow and optimize the organization’s data ingestion process to support data initiatives. The person appointed to this position will report to the Senior Specialist: ICT Data Management.
Key Performance Area:
•Develop, innovate and maintain the data architecture that will drive various initiatives/projects across the organisation
•Collaborate with teams to build strategic data models that will help enable the achievement of business outcomes
•Create robust and automated pipelines to ingest and process structured and unstructured data from source systems into analytical platforms
•Conduct complex data analysis and report on results
•Build and optimise data pipelines and datasets
•Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
•Develop and maintain datasets
•Analyse raw data and Interpret trends and patterns
•Prepare data for prescriptive and predictive modelling
•Implement existing frameworks to optimize functionality.
•Deploy and schedule ETL jobs (Batch/Micro batch processing)
•Partner with various stakeholders within the organisation to drive the improvement in the way that data is stored and consumed.
•Support application team development by writing stored procedures, functions etc.
•Develop and maintain data security and permissions, including data encryption and database user access controls and logging.
•Build algorithms and prototypes.
•Lead business stakeholder’s engagement on data standards and reporting requirements in order to derive the data driven strategy of the FSCA.
Other Key Competencies:
The candidate must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Must have extensive experience with ETL, technical expertise with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques, experience using MS SSIS, MS SSAS, MS SSRS, Power BI and Visual Studio data tools, advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, dimensional modeling, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of other databases, experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement, ability to deal professionally with internal and external clients, Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, Innovative thinking and planning skills, Ability to function independently.

Requirements
A degree in computer science, IT, or related field. Data engineering certification is a plus, and more than 5 years’ experience as a data engineer/ETL Developer is a requirement.

Description
Purpose of the Job:
To effectively regulate and supervise the Banks and Payment Providers, to protect the interest of consumers and to ensure a sound regulatory environment. The person appointed in this position will report to the Manager: Banks and Payment Providers.
Key Performance Areas:
•Monitor compliance with legislation to ensure sound and efficient Financial Services Providers and the protection of consumers;
•Analyse financial statements and compliance reports of Banks and Payment Providers;
•Identify and report trends in the financial services sector with possible impact on the FSCA’s regulatory objectives;
•Conduct on-site and off-site inspections in terms of the risk-based supervision approach and report on the outcomes of such inspections;
•Liaise with the Banks and Payment Providers industry stakeholders; and
•Perform administrative or other activities relating to the supervision of the Banks and Payment Providers.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Law or Banking and other relevant discipline with at least 2-3 years working experience within the financial services industry. The candidate must have a good knowledge and exposure to the financial sector, a good understanding of the Banks Act of 1990 and the Financial Sector Regulation act.

Description
Purpose of the Job:
To provide specialised technical expertise on key insurance legislation—specifically the Long-term Insurance Act 52 of 1998, Short-term Insurance Act 53 of 1998, Financial Sector Regulation Act 9 of 2017, and Insurance Act 18 of 2017—to support effective supervision, compliance monitoring, and regulatory oversight within the insurance sector. The persons appointed to this position will report to the Manager.
Key Performance Areas:
• Support in planning, coordinating and executing supervisory projects.
• Assist the Manager in organising, tracking, and contributing to key supervisory projects by performing research, data analysis, preparing documentation, and ensuring that tasks are completed within set timelines.
• Provide technical and analytical support to strategic decision-making.
• Conduct data gathering, trend analysis, and preliminary assessments to support the department in its strategic initiatives.
• Provide administrative and technical support to management by analysing information for projects.
• Prepare briefs, reports, background notes, and research summaries for the department, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
• Support implementation of changes stemming from supervisory projects.
• Provide support in engagements with FSCA senior management.
• Support engagements with financial institutions on supervision matters.
• Support international stakeholder engagements.
• Prepare briefing materials, collect data, and coordinate logistics for international meetings or working groups where required.
• Understanding of statistical methods and how to apply them by spotting inconsistencies or anomalies in datasets.

Requirements
A degree in Law, or in Commerce or Insurance Risk Management, with at least 5 years’ experience in an insurance technical, compliance or risk specialist role. An excellent knowledge and understanding of the financial services industry, and in particular, the insurance industry is required. Experience in a compliance or risk analysis role within an insurer would be an added advantage. Preference will be given to candidates with a certification in Compliance or Risk Management.

Description
Purpose of the Job:
To monitor compliance with insurance legislation, to conduct investigations relating to insurance business and to ensure a sound and efficient insurance industry. The person appointed to this position will report to the Manager.
Key Performance Areas:
•Liaise with the public and other stakeholders when receiving complaints or enquiries;
•Investigate complaints and enquires within the required departmental turnaround times;
•Monitor compliance with legislation to ensure the protection and fair treatment of policyholders;
