ENTERPRISE ARCHITECT

Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority (FASSET) is a Schedule 3A public entity established under the Skills Development Act, 1998, with a mandate to facilitate skills development and transformation within the finance and accounting sector. 

FASSET seeks to appoint a highly accomplished and seasoned Enterprise Architect to provide strategic technology leadership and architectural guidance across business, information, application, technology, security and integration domains. The incumbent will ensure that ICT investments, solutions and transformation initiatives are aligned to the organisation's strategic direction, enterprise architecture principles, applicable legislation, government ICT policies and recognised industry frameworks. 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 

The successful candidate will: 

• Develop, maintain and continuously improve the Enterprise Architecture Framework and roadmap. 

• Develop and maintain business, information, application, technology and security architecture models. 

• Translate organisational strategy and business requirements into appropriate technology and architecture roadmaps. 

• Provide architectural governance and ensure compliance with approved architecture standards, principles and policies. 

• Evaluate proposed ICT solutions, projects and investments against the Enterprise Architecture. 

• Develop architecture principles, standards, reference architectures and technology patterns. 

• Lead architecture assessments and provide recommendations on technology platforms, applications, integration and infrastructure. 

• Identify opportunities for technology rationalisation, optimisation, modernisation and cost reduction. 

• Support digital transformation, business process optimisation and organisational change initiatives. 

• Guide cloud, data, integration, cybersecurity, enterprise applications and emerging technologies. 

• Ensure interoperability and integration across enterprise systems. 

• Engage with executives, business stakeholders, ICT team, project managers, vendors and other stakeholders. 

• Provide input into ICT strategy, annual operational plans, project prioritisation and investment decisions. 

• Monitor technology trends and assess their potential value and applicability to the organisation. 

• Ensure that architecture practices support effective governance, risk management and compliance. 

• Participate in relevant governance committees and architecture review boards. 

• Develop and maintain architecture documentation, standards, repositories and roadmaps.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

• Bachelor's degree or BTech in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related and equivalent field. 

• 5 to 7 years' relevant experience in Enterprise Architecture, of which 3 years should be in middle management. 

• Demonstrable experience developing and implementing Enterprise Architecture frameworks. 

• Practical experience with TOGAF or another recognised Enterprise Architecture framework. 

• Experience across multiple architecture domains, including business, information/data, application and technology architecture. 

• Experience in digital transformation and ICT strategic planning. 

• Experience in architecture governance and technology evaluation. 

• Experience working with senior management and diverse business and technical stakeholders. 

The following will serve as added advantages: 

• A postgraduate qualification in ICT, Enterprise Architecture, or a related and equivalent qualification. 

• Experience within the Public Sector.

• Project and portfolio management. 

• Risk management and technology investment evaluation. 

• South African public-sector ICT governance and regulatory requirements. 

• POPIA, the PFMA and relevant government ICT policies and standards, where applicable. 

• People management skills
