The Film and Publication Board (FPB) is a statutory body, with its main task being the classification of films, videos, DVDs, computer games and certain publications, including online content for their suitable age viewership. Our mission is to "ensure effective child protection, empowerment of consumers and a contribution to the economic growth of the industry through regulation of media content ".
Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for the following positions in the Head office of FPB based in Centurion Pretoria.
INTERNAL AUDITOR
Programme: Programme 1: Administration

Remuneration: R702,392.00 CTC per Annum
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Internal Auditing or Accounting at NQF level 7
· Minimum 3 years’ work experience in Internal Auditing
· Professional Certifications relevant to Internal Auditing will be an advantage
Competencies:
· Proficiency on MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power point) and Audit Software Systems
· Knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations, other regulations and legislations, Global Internal Audit Standards and best practices
Duties:
· Provide inputs to Internal Audit planning process and policy
· Perform audits in accordance with the annual audit operational plan, including any special tasks or projects as directed by the Line Manager
· Compile planning documentation including notification and scope letters, system descriptions, risk and control matrix and audit programmes
· Execute approved audit programmes and testing procedures to ensure audit objectives and scope are effectively addressed
· Systematically analyse and evaluate business processes, providing value recommendation to improve the auditees’ internal control environment
· Identify risks, impact and analyse root causes for audit findings and provide value adding recommendations to address them
· Provide timely updates to the Line Manager regarding instances of fraud corruption, unethical behaviour and irregularities as identified/discovered during execution of audits
· Prepare all working paper documentation adequately and ensure audit work is performed in accordance with Internal Audit Manual
· Compile draft Internal Audit reports at the conclusion of each assignment for both planned and a hoc audits
· Arrange meetings with management to discuss draft Internal Audit reports
· Present draft Internal Audit reports to management ensuring concise and accurate reporting
· Ensure that all working papers and evidence are up to date on the system at all times
· Finalise Internal Audit reports for review by Line Manager prior being issued
· Update the Audit Actions Plan Register for previously raised Internal Audit and Auditor General findings and Perform follow ups to ensure root causes of identified findings are addressed
· Conduct audits in accordance and comply with the Global Internal Audit Standards for the professional Practice of Internal Auditing established by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)
· Assist with the Combined Assurance activities
· Maintain adequate filing and records management in the Unit in line with the Internal Audit Manual
· Ensure all files and records for the Internal Audit function are stored in a manner that facilitates ease of retrieval
· Maintain good relations with the auditees during the performance of audits and other stakeholders such as AGSA
· Exhibit good communication (verbal and written) skills
· Continuously track, monitor and measure individual performance against set standards and performance targets

VACANCIES ENFORCEMENT COMMITTEE MEMBERS (x2)

The Film and Publication Board (FPB) is a Schedule 3 State Entity responsible for the regulation of the creation, production, possession and distribution of films, games, certain publications and the internet by way of classification.
Acknowledging the vacancy of two members of the Enforcement Committee and to fulfil the requirements of section 4A (1)(h) of the Films and Publications Act, 1996 (Act No. 65 of 1996), as amended, (“the Act”), which requires the Council of the FPB to appoint not more than 5 (five) persons to serve as members of the Enforcement Committee, the FPB invites applications from and/or nominations of suitably qualified persons to be appointed as Enforcement Committee members.
A member of the Enforcement Committee must be a person with knowledge and experience in the following fields:
a) Law;
b) Law Enforcement;
c) Regulatory matters;
d) Film, games, publications, arts, literature;
e) Digital technology and electronic communications; or
f) Sentencing.
Appointed persons will serve as members of the Enforcement Committee on a part-time basis for a period not exceeding five (5) years (subject to annual performance assessments).
Ideally the Enforcement Committee should have members who have a mix of generic attributes, skills and experience that include:
a) a sound understanding of the legislative mandate of the FPB;
b) a grasp of the legislative and regulatory environment and general legal processes within which distributors and exhibitors of content operate;
c) ability to interpret changing social situations impacting on the FPB;
d) ability to contribute constructively and knowledgeably to Enforcement Committee discussions and debates;
e) ability to function constructively in a collective environment;
f) appreciation of and commitment to democratic processes; and
g) strong reasoning skills and an ability to actively engage with others in making decisions.
These qualities should be demonstrated through some or all of the following:
a) governance experience in significant organisations and/or institutions within either the private or public sector;
b) experience at senior management level in organisations within either the private or public sector; and
c) holding senior positions in relevant professional areas including, but not limited to, education, business, finance, law, marketing and information technology.
While it is not expected that every member of the Enforcement Committee should have all the relevant experience and skills, the nominees or applicants must demonstrate any attributes and/or above skills.
Remuneration
Nominees must bear in mind that the FPB is a public institution and serving as a member of the Enforcement Committee should be motivated by public good service rather than self-interest and personal gain. Remuneration will be per the guidelines approved by the Minister in line with section 12 of the Act.
