Minimum Requirements

  • National Diploma in a relevant field (Essential/Minimum).
  • Certificate First Line Management (Recommended/Desirable)
  • Certificate Project Management (Recommended/Desirable)
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in project planning, specifically within the mining or heavy industry sector, with exposure to medium to large projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as MS Projects or Primavera.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent analytical skills for conducting critical path and earned value analyses to monitor project performance and identify improvement areas.
  • Effective communication and teamwork capabilities, including experience mentoring and coaching planning professionals.
  • Competence in MS Office Suite relevant packages (Essential/Minimum).
  • Valid Public Driving License, Code B (Essential/Minimum).
  • Ability to ensure compliance with company standards, governance, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to present project-related information clearly to stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Mentor and coach planning professionals, ensuring adherence to company standards, best practices, and development of accurate project schedules including tasks, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Monitor and track progress of project plans, performing critical path and earned value analyses to identify deviations and ensure timely project delivery within budget.
  • Maintain up-to-date project programmes, communicate changes to relevant stakeholders, and provide regular progress reports to project managers and clients.
  • Support compliance with company governance, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) policies to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Coordinate and liaise with operational personnel to align project schedules with project scope, customer requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Ensure document control and adherence to Enterprise Project Management (EPM) standards through centralized capturing systems and quality assurance checks.
  • Participate in the evaluation and continuous improvement of project planning standards, tools, and methodologies to enhance business performance and operational efficiency.
  • Provide technical support for capital cost planning and schedule validation, offering expert guidance and support on estimation and schedule development.
  • Drive functional excellence by standardizing and simplifying processes, promoting best practices, and fostering a culture of accountability and discipline within the project planning team.
  • Represent the company in meetings with clients and stakeholders, communicating project planning status effectively and ensuring customer satisfaction through reliable service delivery.

  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards, regulations, and cloud-based financial planning and analysis solutions.
  • Familiarity with data mapping, transformations, loading processes, and integration tools.
  • Experience supporting end-users through training, system support, and documentation.

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance financial reports and dashboards within EPBCS and HFM to meet reporting standards and stakeholder needs.
