Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Engineering (Essential/Minimum requirement)
- Relevant Trade Artisan Qualification with MQA/QCTO Accreditation (Essential/Minimum)
- Certificate in First Line Management (Essential/Minimum)
- Bachelor of Technology (B Tech) in a relevant field (Recommended/Desirable)
- Minimum of 5 years relevant construction and commercial exposure, preferably in a project size similar to the business unit's scope (Essential/Minimum requirement)
- Psychometric Assessment (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
- Certificate of Fitness (Essential/Minimum) (To be conducted by Exxaro)
- Proven leadership skills with ability to manage contractor construction supervisors and multi-disciplinary teams effectively
- Strong understanding and commitment to safety, health, environment, and community (SHEC) policies and procedures
- Demonstrated capability in project execution, risk management, and compliance with legal and procedural requirements within a construction environment
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage Contractor Construction Supervisors and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to ensure effective construction execution according to the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and relevant procedures.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to compile and define the Scope of Work and ensure all contractor appointments comply with legal requirements.
- Monitor and measure project progress to guarantee alignment with time, cost, quality, and scope targets, providing timely and accurate feedback to stakeholders.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce safe operational standards while promoting a culture of safety and compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, and Community (SHEC) policies.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, monthly audits for contractors, and ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment and maintenance of safe work environments.
- Lead investigations into incidents promptly, implementing appropriate remedial actions and continuous risk management through hazard identification and mitigation.
- Coordinate relocation of site resources and manage deliveries of free-issue equipment to ensure efficient site operations.
- Promote teamwork by supporting and managing employee and contractor performance and fostering positive working relationships.
- Ensure all legal appointments and fitness certificates are in place for contractors and own team, maintaining compliance with governance and project management standards.
