PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE
This role provides strategic, operational, and personal support to the CEO within a fast-paced and demanding management environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in optimising the CEO’s effectiveness, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, and enabling focus on strategic leadership and growth.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES, MEASURES & INTERFACES
Executive & Strategic Support:
- Manage and optimise the CEO’s calendar in alignment with business priorities.
- Act as gatekeeper and facilitator, ensuring effective time utilisation.
- Track key business priorities, deadlines, and deliverables across divisions.
- Prepare high-quality briefing documents, reports, and summaries for meetings and engagements.
- Apply sound judgement in prioritisation and escalation of matters.
- Support strategic projects and initiatives across internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate the CEO’s travel itineraries including flights, hotel accommodation, transportation and other travel needs in collaboration with the Corporation’s Travel Function.
- In collaboration with the Travel Office, manage last-minute changes, disruptions, and time-sensitive travel requirements across time zones.
- Maintain detailed travel profiles, preferences, and records for seamless future coordination.
- Coordinate the CEO’s participation in conferences, events, and international engagements.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management:
- Manage communication on behalf of the CEO with professionalism and discretion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality engagement aligned with the Corporation’s standards.
Operational & Administrative Excellence:
- Maintain confidential records, contracts, and sensitive documentation.
- Manage expenses, budgets, and financial administration.
- Oversee ad hoc projects and ensure delivery within agreed timelines.
- Ensure all administrative processes are efficient, accurate, and up to date.
Systems & Process Management:
- Develop and maintain effective systems, trackers, and workflows.
- Ensure documentation and communication are structured and accessible.
- Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational challenges

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A Diploma or Degree in Administration or Business Management, or related field
- A minimum of 5 years’ working experience at an executive level reporting to the CEO;
- High proficiency with the latest Windows applications;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (MS-Word, MS Excel (at an advanced level of proficiency), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
- Financial administration and budgeting experience

SENIOR UNDERWRITER: \SHORT-TERM TRADE INSURANCE (“STI”)

PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE
The purpose of this role is to primarily underwrite short-term trade insurance applications. The incumbent of this role will also be responsible for acting on behalf of the Head of the STI Unit, to coach & mentor junior staff as may be required.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES, MEASURES & INTERFACES
- Analyse and Interpret financial statements, management accounts and financial models;
- Lead the deal team with the process of coordinating the visits, required information relating to the transaction, negotiate the structure of the transactions, assessing of commercial terms in the financial documents, application and other related documents to reach financial close;
- Evaluate information to determine level of risks in relation to the cover being assessed to support the transactions that meet the ECIC mandate and credit requirements;
- Conduct the assessment of technical feasibility, commercial feasibility, financial and credit worthiness of transactions, environmental and social aspects, (in line with the underwriting criteria, governance issues such as anti-bribery, sanctionable entities and policies of the Corporation);
- Prepare high quality submissions to be presented to ECIC approval committees i.e., Project EXCO, FIIC Committee and/or Board;
- Develop and maintain relationships within the organisation, exporters, lenders, short-term trade insurers and reinsurers, other ECA’s and other institutions involved in the export business;
- Responsible for identifying new business opportunities for ECIC with a special focus on the short-term trade insurance business in collaboration with the business development team;
- Assess the degree and types of commercial and political risks likely to be involved in a transaction and determine whether these risks should be covered and under what terms and conditions;
- Present and support transactions to ECIC approval committees i.e., Project EXCO, Finance Investment and Insurance Committee and/or Board for approval;
- Negotiation of transactions, structuring and review of commercial terms in the finance documents, security documents and other related documents;
- Interact with the Portfolio Management team, as may be required in relation to approved transactions post cover;
- Carry out the corporate strategic plan, and the business goals of the new business unit dealing with short-term trade insurance business;
- Work in collaboration with other business units, such as Risk Unit, Business Development Unit, Portfolio Management Unit, PEAR Unit, Actuarial Unit, Legal Services Unit etc. in line with the values of the Corporation that promote teamwork;
- Manage risks and/or compliance issues within the unit in accordance with ECIC compliance and risk management strategy;
- Management of the Short-term Business Unit Portfolio;
- Manage service provider’s contracts and risk register; and
- Keep abreast on matters evolving short-term trade insurance and other relevant regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree with specialisation in Accounting, Financial Accounting, Finance, Credit Risk Management, Business Administration or relevant fields;
- Minimum 8 years’ relevant experience in short-term trade insurance and/or reinsurance, commercial and /or political risk underwriting or risk management.
- Sound knowledge of international business, contractual, corporate finance practices and accounting.

Purpose of this Programme
An internship with ECIC’s ICT Unit gives graduates the opportunity to gain relevant experience in a corporate environment while assisting with desktop and local area network (LAN) support to ECIC users and ensuring continued system availability.
Responsibilities & exposure
- Serve as the initial contact for users of all IT supported systems, applications and services in operation;
- Administer, maintain, service and support approximately 90 end users;
- Hardware setup and support (including monitoring and updating inventory of computer
- equipment), PC’s, printers, wireless network, switches and cabling;
- Software installation and support for various operating systems (Windows 11, Windows
- Server), Office 365 productivity and collaboration tools, SharePoint, Active directory and other business applications;
- Administer and maintain company's e-mail and internet facilities;
- Ensure adequate backups (daily, monthly, yearly) are kept for critical data;
- Maintain the anti-virus control procedures and ensure that the virus definition updates are downloaded and installed on all desktops;
- Administering of new equipment or peripherals (quotes, orders, invoices);
- Record and escalate any IT service interruptions;
- Assist and be part of ICT projects;
- Provide weekly ICT reports (incidents and problem management);
- Provide basic end user training related to the technology used within the ECIC;
- Assist with ICT related administrative duties as and when required.
- Participate in ICT related activities conducted afterhours such as disaster recovery testing and major system changes.
Qualifications
A minimum of Diploma in IT or MCSE (or equivalent), A+ and N+ certification. An ITIL foundation certificate is preferred, but not essential.
Knowledge Skills and abilities
- Must have good technical understanding of supporting and maintaining workstations and network in a Microsoft Windows environment;
- Understanding of network architecture (OSI models, protocols);
