Job Description

 

Job Purpose

The In-Service Training position in Chemical Engineering is designed for engineering students who are looking to gain practical experience in the field. This role focuses on providing support in various engineering processes and projects, allowing trainees to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world environment while actively contributing to the team.

 

Key Performance Areas

  • Assist in the design and analysis of chemical processes under the guidance of senior process controller. 
  • Conduct experiments and tests to evaluate chemical properties and reactions. 
  • Collect and analyse data to aid in process improvement initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical projects and safety assessments. 
  • Prepare detailed reports on findings and present results to the engineering team. 
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of production processes. 
  • Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental regulations within the workplace. 
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance technical skills and knowledge.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (grade 12) with Maths and Science
  • Completed theoretical modules for Chemical Engineering degree program. 
  • Demonstrable experience with engineering principles and laboratory techniques related to chemical processes. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with team members. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment. 
  • Commitment to safety and environmental standards in engineering practices.
