Minimum requirements:
· Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline with a component in organizational research and evaluation
· 3 – 5 years experience as a professional in the monitoring and evaluation field
· Experience in setting up and managing M&E systems for strategic and operational plans
· Experience in monitoring, evaluation, benchmarking, comparative peer studies, situational analysis and research within the Higher Education sector
· Analytical and problem-solving ability
· Problem/Situation analysis and synthesis
· Demonstrated ability to conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis
· Excellent written and oral communication skills in the business language of the University
Ideal requirements
· PhD in a relevant discipline with a component in organizational research and evaluation
· Experience in the Higher Education sector is highly desirable
Summary of Duties:
Institutional performance monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, templates, and process
· Design and oversee the implementation of an Institutional Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Plan (IPMEP) to monitor, evaluate and report on performance, taking into account any existing approaches
· Conceptualise and develop tools, frameworks, templates and models for Institutional performance monitoring, evaluation, reflection and reporting, taking into account any existing approaches
· Take the lead in ensuring high levels of data and information quality is maintained in monitoring and evaluation reports
Manage Institutional Performance Monitoring and Evaluation
· Maintain awareness of relevant sector developments to gather intelligence, insights and examples of best practice
· Lead all IPME regular and ad-hoc monitoring and evaluation tasks to identify strengths and weaknesses in performance
o Lead and ensure the effective monitoring of DUT Strategic Plan and Annual Performance Plan (APP) and Extended Annual Performance Plan (EAPP)
o Compile, coordinate and finalise n-1 year-end report of university performance on the (E) APP; performance report on DHET APP on and mid-year and an annual basis.
Reporting
· Lead M&E reporting to management, Council and DHET by providing written documentation and/or presentations on M&E activities and indicator results for progress, quarterly, mid-year, annual reports and plans, etc. as appropriate and required
· Providing reports to the executive management team on rankings, performance and scenario and situational analyses respectively, with recommendations for improvement of performance

Summary of Duties:
Conducting Institutional Research
· Conduct institutional research in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements in support of planning, decision-making, and performance assessment across the University
· Implement appropriate institutional research policies, procedures and practices to facilitate the formation of an enabling learning environment
· Integrate HEMIS and operational domain data into institutional-level institutional research projects
Provide Business Intelligence
· Participate in institutional strategic planning and help re-integrate business intelligence outcomes into business cycle and service delivery to formulate the University's strategic direction and deliverables.
· Participate in the University's strategic planning processes, monitoring implementation, evaluating impacts, and preparing reports in this regard.
Compile reports
· Compile reports of and present institutional research outcomes and recommendations accurately to management stakeholders
· Track and report on progress against institutional implementation plans and deliverables
· Contribute to statutory reporting (including but not limited to the compilation of the annual report, annual performance plan and mid-year reports) and other internal reports and plans.

- Postgraduate qualification (NQF 8 Honours) in Design, Multimedia, or Strategic Communication.
- 6-8 years’ experience in design and branding, of which 3 years must be in a supervisory or team leader role.
Key responsibilities:
Creative & Design Leadership
- Provide creative leadership and direction for all DUT design projects.
- Translate institutional priorities into impactful visual communication.
- Ensure consistency of brand application across print, digital, and multimedia.
- Review and approve design concepts, layouts, and final artworks.
- Maintain a balance between creativity, innovation, and brand compliance.
- Research and introduce new design trends and tools.
- Provide creative input for marketing campaigns, publications, and events.
Brand Identity & Reputation Management
- Safeguard DUT’s brand identity and ensure adherence to guidelines.
- Oversee the development and updating of brand manuals and templates.

- Maintain an archive of all design outputs for reference and reporting.

Digital & Multimedia Design
- Oversee digital design outputs for web, social media, and mobile platforms.
- Supervise production of multimedia content (animations, motion graphics, video branding).

- Ensure innovation in digital storytelling and campaigns.
