WORLD TRADE CENTRE MANAGER TG15 

TWELVE (12) MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT 

MIN: R63 631.95 MAX R106 412.56 PER MONTH 

The organization is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of World Trade Centre Manager. 

The incumbent will be required to drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and implementing effective business growth and development strategies. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES 

Minimum Qualifications 

 Diploma in International Trade Management/Business/Commerce/Economics/Management (NQF level6) 

 Master of Business Administration/Masters in International Trade would be an added advantage 

 Five (05) years’ experience in international trade/consulting.

KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE 

 Formulate and implement strategies for business expansion and development; 

 Drive business growth by attracting and onboarding new clients into the trade program; 

 Facilitate the negotiation of contractual terms and conditions to ensure mutually beneficial agreements; 

 Provide advice on international business law, trade regulations and customs; 

 Develop new business by engaging and enrolling new clients into the trade program 

 Build and sustain enduring relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive business growth and ensure seamless trade operations; 

 Monitor and evaluate performance across multiple indicators; 

 Partner with Sales & Marketing teams to secure new leads; 

 Identify market trends and developments and potential business opportunities; 

 Oversee compliance with domestic and international trade laws, including customs regulations, tariffs, and restrictions on trade; 

 Coordinate departmental resources, encompassing Human Resource functions, administrative reporting, and compliance management.

SALES AND BUSINESS EXECUTIVE (TG17)

The organisation is calling for suitable candidates to apply for the position of Sales and Business Executive. The Sales and Business Executive will lead and manage the Durban ICC's sales function to achieve or exceed annual revenue targets. The role is responsible for strategic sales planning, business development, launching new products and services, attracting national and international events, developing Durban ICC-owned events, and ensuring excellent customer service. The position also provides overall leadership and coordination of the Conventions, Exhibitions, Entertainment, and Property business units, driving business growth in support of the Durban ICC's mandate to promote economic development and job creation in the City of Durban. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS 

 Matric (Grade 12). 

 Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/ Sales/ Commerce/Tourism/ Business Management. 

 8 years’ experience in a related field. 

 5 years’ experience should be at a management level.

KEY PERFORMANCE / MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THIS ROLE 

 Manage the compilation and execution of the departmental strategic business plans encapsulating key sales interventions, managing staff performance levels, and client and stakeholder relationships. 

 Provide input into the development of the entity’s short and long term business plan. 

 Responsible for ensuring the company revenue target is met. 

 Prepare reports for the Board and Committees. 

 Attending and representing the Durban ICC at national and international events.

 Formulating and submitting business plans prioritizing key performance areas in accordance with the departmental, organizational and legislative objectives. 

 Building and maintaining national and international business relationships with stakeholders and clients for growth and sustainability. 

 Engage with local and international agents as well as event owners to identify and investigate potential revenue streams. 

 Maximise the Centre’s contribution to the National Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of South Africa. 

 Optimise the Centre’s contribution to the Provincial Gross Geographic Product (GGP) of KwaZulu-Natal. 

 Maximise the number of direct and indirect jobs created on a provincial and national level. 

 Negotiating and concluding agreements with key clients. 

 Approval of quotations and contracts of quotations and contracts in line with the Pricing Guidelines, Management Guidelines and Delegation of Authority. 

 Manage Key Performance Indicator’s and outcomes of personnel and processes within the department. 

 Conducting appraisals to measure performance against agreed objectives, counselling and consulting with personnel on developmental goals, career paths and short-term targets and standards. 

 Bid for events and secure events for the event pipeline for future years. 

 Manage the operational expenditure for the sub unit within the approved budget.

 Manage the national and international travel schedule and budget (specific to the sub unit) to manage expenditure within the approved travel budget.
