Introduction
Purpose of the Position: To support the management of the organisations daily cash flow, process financial transactions and ensure accurate financial records. To ensure liquidity and compliance with financial policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
Creditors Management:
- Ensure validity, accuracy and completeness of the total trade creditors’ liability by overseeing the daily data capturing process and reviewing the monthly reconciliation of all creditor control accounts.
- Assist the cash management department with cash planning and provide recommendations on weekly cash vendor disbursements whilst aligning cash outflows with current cash flow forecasts.
- Facilitate the resolution of any invoice query within the procure-to-pay cycle. Produce bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of existing accounts payable systems.
Debtors Management:
- Ensure validity, accuracy and completeness of the total trade debtors receivable by overseeing the daily data capturing process and reviewing the monthly reconciliation of all debtors control accounts.
- Assist the cash management department with cash planning and provide recommendations on weekly cash receipts whilst aligning cash inflows with current cash flow forecasts.
- Monthly debtor’s day report. Resolving queries and overdue balances.
- Reviewing and approving credit notes as per delegation of authority framework.
- Oversee the implementation and correct application of all policies and procedures to ensure compliance and minimise financial risk to the business.
Bank and Cash Management:
- Manage incoming and outgoing cash effectively on a daily basis. Develop strategies to optimize the cash position of the company.
- Preparation of the weekly, monthly, yearly cash flow forecast.
- Comparing actual cash flows to forecasted cash flows and reporting on deviations.
- Analyse cash flow mechanism of the company and prepare monthly variance report.
- Resolve issues related to foreign currency exchange. Management of the intercompany loan accounts and ensuring that payments are made and received on time.
- Reviewing and approving monthly bank reconciliations. Fixed Asset Management:
- Management of the overall Fixed Asset Register which includes the additions and disposals.
- Reviewing and approving monthly reconciliations. Ensuring that the FAR is valid, accurate and complete.
- Ensuring that assets are capitalised in line with the company policy and relevant accounting standards.
General Ledger Management:
- Approval of master data additions, changes and deletion of master data.
- Management of the rolling of the financial periods from month to month and year to year.
- Prepare and submit information as required for the budgeting and forecasting models.
- Close out of month end, quarter end and year end including the review of balance sheet recons.
- Timeously address internal and external audit requirements to ensure that deadlines are met.
- Annually review procedures within the function and where procedures do not exit then develop and implement such procedures.
- Effectively manage the team by recruiting, developing, and performance managing the team to ensure efficient human resources for the department.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum B.Comm (Honours) degree or similar qualification (NQF 8). CA (SA) would be advantageous.
- Minimum 6 years relevant experience of which 3 years must be management experience.
- Related Finance Back Office environment experience would be advantageous
