Job Description:
As a General Engineering Supervisor Drills & Support Equipment your responsibilities will include the following:
- Safe and healthy work environment

- Active participation in VFLs, Risk Assessments and close-out of Safety Actions.

- Build, manage, and maintain healthy relations with stakeholders to assist in achieving sectional goals.
- Liaise with stakeholders to provide relevant and specialised technical support and input for operations and projects.
- Ensure that all relevant information is communicated to the supervisor accurately and timely.
- People Management
- Lead and develop the team's performance according to company policies and systems.

- Optimize human resources to achieve maximum output for the section.

- Arrange necessary and compulsory training to help subordinates deliver their outputs and assist in implementing their IDPs.
- Advise and assist the team with complex tasks.
- Partner with HR to manage employee incapacity cases effectively.
- Engineering & Maintenance Management
- Maintain equipment, machines, processes, and tools to ensure maximum availability and quality standards.
- Plan, implement, and manage maintenance schedules while considering production targets to ensure minimal interruption.
- Identify improvement opportunities, implement them where feasible, and maintain the new performance standards.
- Ensure that all system and administrative requirements are met.
- Hand over work orders to Artisan/Operators according to the Operating Model procedure.
- Ensure that the Operating Model procedures are followed.
- Implementing the Operating Model Daily Tasks:
- Provide a report on daily schedule progress.
- Report on outstanding risks and urgent work from previous days and performance.
- Review daily output, schedule, and task compliance.
- Communicate all management instructions to the team.
- Ensure that all outstanding safety and plant deviations have been addressed.
- Generate and sign off any Routine Operating Schedule changes when required.
- Approve or cancel all SAP notifications within 24 hours.
- Monitor daily schedule compliance and address deviations promptly.
- Communicate daily with subordinates about scheduled tasks and resource availability.
- Ensure that completed work orders are returned to the Work Management Planner for closure or rescheduling/cancellation of operations.
- Escalate and Address Risks to the Schedule per the Operating Model procedure.
- Hold personnel accountable for following the Operating Model procedures.
- Give feedback on execution performance and provide coaching and development to personnel.
- Weekly Tasks:
- Address compliance, reconciliation, and deviations in the weekly schedule.
- Sign off on work orders and return them to planners for closure.
- Hand over work orders to the supervisor using the operating model procedure.
- Review the draft weekly schedule.
- Attend the formal weekly schedule review meeting to finalise the execution schedule.
- Forward all risks and deviations to the risk owner and sign off on them.
- Monitor work order cost control in task status reports.
- Review work order planning and input.
- Ensure that the section safety strategy is attached to all work orders.
- Monthly Tasks:
- Ensure Pre-Planning is completed within the Operating Model Procedure.
- Ensure all safety & health related incidents and outstanding actions are addressed in pre-planning,
- Ensure all instructions regarding services, quality, environment, and safety are documented in the preplanning,
- Ensure all managerial instructions are documented in the pre-planning,
- Contractors Meeting (FLM to have a meeting with contractors working in his section),
- Support standards committee procedures and standards revision
- Review:
- Review previous KPI (Safety Inc. & Acc, output compliance, services compliance, schedule compliance).
- Review Routine Operating Schedule compliance.
- Review month-end cost expenditure.
- Review high-risk tasks and actions.
- Review Maintenance Strategy.
- Compare monthly measured and scheduled compliance and pinpoint necessary actions to enhance the quality.
- Budget Management and Cost Control
- Compile own budget and manage the section's expenditure within the approved budget to ensure effective cost control and savings.
- Manage overtime within required limits and achieve savings in this regard.
This role is in the Engineering & Maintenance (ENG) department at a Band 6.10 (D1) level reporting to the Section Engineer Drills & Support and Contractor Equipment
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 / N3 Technical
- National Engineering Diploma (NQF6)
- Qualification in Project Management (NQF6) – Advantageous
- SA Drivers Licence Code B
Technical Knowledge
- 5 Years’ operational experience in maintenance.
- Technical expertise in HME/Opencast/Plant or Processing within the mining industry.
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial role overseeing engineering/plant/maintenance operations.
- Knowledge of engineering processes and best practices.

As our Junior Hydro-Geologist , your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Consistently apply safety and health principles in all team interactions and take personal responsibility for the safety of self and others to ensure zero harm and elimination of fatalities.
- Collect, capture, monitor, and report data related to dewatering infrastructure inspections. • Supervise and manage drilling and testing contractors by conducting SHEQ checks, logging drill chips, preparing drill sites, tracking budgets, and processing invoices.

- Higher National Qualification in Business Accounting/Finance/ or Economics on NQF5

Technical Knowledge
- 3-5 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis.
- Solid knowledge of contracts, administrative processes, and supporting systems (ERP, SAP, SAP Ariba, etc).
- General administrative capabilities, including minutes, record keeping, and digital contract execution processes.
- Contract amendments execution and digital implementation.
- Monitoring and reporting performance management of contractual KPIs.
- Vendor and Material Master data updates.
- Sourcing and contracting activities for tactical and routine contracts.

Job Description:
The incumbent will be responsible for all naval architecture matters pertaining to the design, construction, conversion, operation, repair and maintenance of marine mining and sampling vessels.
This role is in the Upstream Technology Department at a GBF6 level reporting to the Engineering Manager-Technical Services Unit
Your role will include but not limited to:
Financial Effectiveness
- Participate in cost saving initiatives and adhere to financial procedures
- Documents associated assumptions, issues, and risks and ensures these are mitigated to the fullest extent possible.
- Supports the development of approved cost estimates.
- Supporting the development of project budgets, timescales and specifications with clients
Naval Architecture
- Responsible for providing the following functions/services to the business:
- Naval architecture requirement specifications for general arrangements, basic (Class) and detail design (including structural and top side design).
- specifications and analyses of vessel motions, mooring and dynamic positioning (DP) capability requirements
- Vessel trim and stability analyses (including statutory requirements)
- Representing the client during vessel construction and/or conversion (ensuring warranty/quality), on naval architecture matters
- Development and assurance of powering and propulsion requirements and solutions.
- Provision and assurance of marine certificates and safety plans (Inclination experiments, hull fatigue inspections, safety plans, etc).
- Development and support of on-board stability and weight management activities.
- Liaison with and obtaining Class and Statutory approvals of the vessels as required.
- Structural evaluation of vessels including fatigue strength assessment for new vessels (conversion and new build), upgrade capital projects, shutdown maintenance and operational support.
- Vessel intact and damage stability calculations, assessment and assurance, including emergency response support for new vessels (conversion and new build), upgrade capital projects, shutdown maintenance and operational support.
- Requirement specification and analyses of vessel motions, mooring and DP capability.
- Development and support of on-board stability software for vessels.
- Liaison with and obtaining Class and Statutory approvals of the vessels as required.
- Ensures that work is delivered to schedule, cost and quality requirements.
- Supporting the development of project budgets, timescales and specifications, including support of the development of approved cost estimates.
- Support and training of vessel crew related to load line issues, structural integrity, intact and damaged stability, importance of watertight integrity and weight management and any special considerations unique to marine mining operations
Qualifications:
- Degree or Master’s degree (M Sc Eng) in Naval Architecture
OR
- Bachelor of Engineering/Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering plus 5 years post graduate engineering and a minimum 5 years experience in the Naval Architecture field ”
- Registered with the Engineering Council as a professional engineer (Pr Eng) required (Membership with a naval architecture or marine engineering related professional body is preferred).
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in naval architecture
- Thorough knowledge of Classification Society Rules and Requirements, e.g. Lloyd’s, ABS, DNV&GL and Maritime Conventions and Statutory Regulations eg. SOLAS, MARPOL, CAP 437, SAMSA, DMA.
Knowledge & Technical Skills
- Strong IT (including related Naval Architecture software) skills
- Ability to analyse and interpret technical information and drawings
