Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma in Public/ Environmental Health or equivalent
- Statutory requirements: Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa as Environmental Health Practitioner in terms of the Health Professions Act 1974
- A minimum of 10 years in the field of environmental health

- Ensure Strategic Capability and Leadership.
- To communicate and implement a meaningful strategic context that guides and directs best practice, integration, process alignment and service delivery.
- To ensure effective and efficient rendering of Municipal and environmental health services within the municipality in order to safeguard public health through planned, coordinated, controlled and supervised activities.
- Ensure governance and risk management.
- To ensure compliance to policies, guidelines, standard operational procedures and legislative requirements of the employer and statutory bodies and to minimise the risks to the municipality.

- 2 - 3 years' experience in the field of environmental health
- Valid Code EB driver's license
Core Responsibilities:
- To ensure effective and efficient rendering of environmental health services and administration within the Municipality, including quality training of target groups enabling them to render/perform activities within their respective fields, in order to safeguard public health through planned, coordinated, controlled and supervised activities
- Governance and risk management
- To prevent unjustified/unnecessary expenditure and to comply with applicable EMM and financial legislation, policies and procedures of the organisation
- To ensure that environmental health services are rendered in a manner that complies with related policies and legislation governing the rights of customers
