Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Electrical Engineering/ Equivalent relevant NQF Level 6 Qualification
  • Code EB valid driver’s licence
  • 3 years' experience in similar environment

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate the activities and operation of the Protection, Test and Metering section at Distribution Business Unit level.
  • Ensure routine tests and inspections are performed on protection equipment
  • Ensure all protection operations are investigated, propose remedies and ensure prompt implementation upon approval
  • Manage the process of ensuring that all electrical equipment is tested to determine its suitability to be connected to the electrical network
  • Optimise network operation to enhance power quality supply and reliability by ensuring voltage regulation equipment are kept operational.
  • Provide training and guidance in the maintenance routines on the DC systems
  • Ensure that completed work adheres to governance and legislative requirements and mitigate risks to the municipality.
  • Ensure processes comply with financial processes and regulations and prevent financial loses.
  • Provide professional advice and consulting service to relevant parties and deliver an efficient and effective service delivery
  • Provide and effective and efficient management, build and sustain strong workforce with high level of productivity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • LLB Degree
  • Admitted attorney and in good standing with the relevant law society
  • Drivers licence
  • 6 years working experience in legal environment

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the drafting of bid specification Service Level Agreement / Supply Contract and ensure effective implementation thereof.
  • Implement operational plans, standard operation procedures, initiatives and projects relating to contract compliance and management.
  • Advice on specialised procurement and draft all relevant documents to comply with legislation, policies and procedures
  • Monitor the implementation of all contracts relevant to the Division and advise on action to be taken in case of breach and non-compliance
  • Develop a risk register, a monitoring and reporting system to report on mitigating actions and legal developments impacting IRPTN
  • Analyse the Service Level Agreements/ Contracts to ensure comprehensive specialised legal support to Transport Department/IRPTN and that parties' obligations in terms of the contracts are properly documented, managed and enforced.
  • Ensure efficient management and control of resources and budget in accordance with the MFMA and Treasury Regulations, CoE Policies, Risk Management Principles and Corporate Governance processes and regulations
  • Advice and guide the Roads and Transport Department of the City on compliance with the National Land Transport Act, in particular negotiated agreement with relevant Transport Stakeholders for Bus Rapid Transport.
  • Ensure efficient adherence and compliance with contract management prescripts as stipulated on the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA), Municipal Systems Act and other relevant contract management policies and legislation.

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma in Cost Management/ Accounting/Financial Accounting or relevant NQF Level 6 Financial qualification
  • 3 years accounting experience in budget, accounting forecasting and resource allocation in a large, developed organization, preferably within the local government sector

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Participate in strategic planning and determining of KPIs for the department.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and legislation in order to execute the expenditure functions and ensure high-quality services are rendered
  • Analyse the budget/ expenditure monthly to ensure effective financial management
  • Manage reports pertaining to expenditure and ensure that all financial reports are submitted timeously
  • Taking responsibility for budget preparation, adjustment and implementation.
  • Develop and implement departmental internal control system to ensure good communication and dissemination of information
  • Ensure that payments of sums owed by the city are made in an efficient, effective and timeous manner
  • Ensure that payments are made in line with the available budget and update register
