INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY PROJECT SPECIALIST
(FIXED TERM CONTRACT UP TO 31 MARCH 2030)
REMUNERATION PACKAGE: R1 023 616 - R1 195 718 CTC PER ANNUM
Reporting to Executive Manager (Innovation Technology & Research Planning): the incumbent in this position will be required to manage data for reporting purposes, create and manage dashboards, develop effective strategies for data analysis and reporting and track progress and digitization projects and report as such.
Minimum Requirements:
· B Comm / B Degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Project Management or related.
· An NQF level 8 qualification will be an added advantage.
· Relevant 3-5 years’ experience in Innovation and ICT projects
Key Performance Areas:
· Operates with various data sources and transforms that data into meaningful insights.
· Integrated reporting with other business units.
· Shares the dashboards and educates the rest of CHIETA on how the dashboards can be used, and the meaning of the information reported.
· Shares insights with the rest of CHIETA and ensure that data that emanates from research is used appropriately by key decision-makers.
· Assists with providing critical data and information to the Ideation committee.
· Creates automatically updated and interactive reports and dashboards for ongoing data-backed decision-making.
· Designs and implements reporting management initiatives through the CHIETA, in line with the CHIETA’s digital business initiatives.
· Provides key recommendations and test reporting capabilities on various systems that are considered for implementation.
· Improves CHIETA’s reporting capabilities on existing systems and make recommendations on digitization system and their reporting capabilities on future, or soon to be implemented systems.
· Communicates reporting capabilities for each of the digitization systems.
· Manages digitization projects in an agile manner and reports on success and challenges.
· Recommends mitigation plans when projects face challenges and are gearing for critical paths.
· Monitors the operation of policy and procedures in order to ensure the integrity of CHIETA.
· Develops and maintains a quality assurance and improvement program that covers all aspects of policy and risk activity.
· Establishes and maintain a system to monitor the dispositions of results communicated to management.
· Ensures that all action plans are in place to address internal and external audit findings and monitor progress against these plans.
· Ensures compliance with relevant legislation and policy frameworks within functional area to prevent fruitless, wasteful, and irregular expenditure.
· Works collaboratively with stakeholders by establishing and maintaining effective networks and working relationships.
· Represents CHIETA in meetings with stakeholders.
· Solves problems creatively whilst demonstrating a high level of integrity in line with CHIETA’S core values.
· Manages key strategic relationships in accordance with policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
· Contributes to the budget preparation process.
· Ensures the effective, efficient, economical, and transparent use of financial and other resources.
· Monitors expenditure against budget and ensures spending occurs within budgetary limits.
· Explores opportunities to reduce costs.
· Ensures divisional, regional and departmental budget monitoring in line with CHIETA financial guidelines.
· Develop project plans for the CHIETA Smart Skills Centres and ensure that all centres are fully operational at all times.
· Complete the project within the stipulated schedule, quality and scope.
· Project risk identification and management.
· Conduct project change management.
· Develop and ensure project governance.

FINANCE ADMINISTRATOR
LOCATION: GAUTENG

An opportunity exists at the CHIETA head office for a Finance Administrator. The incumbent will provide administrative support to the Finance Business Unit. Candidates who meet the requirements of the position are invited to apply.

REQUIREMENTS:
▪ NQF 6 in Finance, Accounting or related fields
▪ 1-3 years’ work experience in Finance, Accounting and Financial Administration or similar experience

REGIONAL SKILLS ADVISOR
LOCATION: KWAZULU-NATAL

There is an exciting opportunity within CHIETA. The purpose of the position is to manage and support skills development initiatives related to the chemical sector at a provincial and national level. Applicants who meet the requirements below for the position are invited to apply:
REQUIREMENTS:
• NQF Level 7 qualification in Finance/ Project Management/ Public Administration/ Business Administration/ Human Resource Management/Development or ODETDP.
• 3-5 years’ work experience in a Skills Development / HRD environment (A background in a SETA, Chemical Industry, Engineering, or Manufacturing experience as an Artisan and other technical areas will be advantageous).
• A valid driver's license code EB and own a reliable vehicle.
• Able to travel and work away from home for days.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manages Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) from a CHIETA levy paying companies.
• Identifies and recruits new companies within the Chemical Sector.
• Conducts ongoing chemical industry capacity-building workshops and attends relevant stakeholder/regional events where applicable.
• Ensures that Skills Development Committees are established and operational.
• Conducts SDF capacity-building Workshops.
• Maintains accurate record-keeping as per the CHIETA Quality Management System.
• Evaluates the extent to which training on discretionary grants projects has commenced and progress has been achieved against signed agreements using a project management approach
• Produces accurate financial reports for the skills development interventions within the region.
• Evaluates and conducts due diligence for the Discretionary grants award applications.
• Provides system support to companies and providers as and when necessary.
• Generates Request for Payment for Discretionary Grants timeously.
• Promotes compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures to prevent fruitless, wasteful, and irregular expenditure.
• Maintains effective working relationships with customers (both internal and external) towards rendering the highest quality of services.
• Establish implementation monitoring plans with clear timelines.
• Track deliverables and milestones against MOA and project timelines.
• Identify risks and mitigation plans thereof.
• Manage risks promptly.
• Monitor risk indicators and implementation bottlenecks.
• Proactively escalate issues to the Regional Manager and propose practical mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
• Monitor fund disbursements in line with the MOA deliverables.
