BUSINESS UNIT: ELECTRICITY & ENERGY SERVICES
HEAD OF BUSINESS UNIT – ELECTRICITY AND ENERGY SERVICES
Total Remuneration package R 2 536 434.00 (Negotiable)
REF: HOD/26/1
Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (at NQF 8)
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance (at NQF 7)
· MFMA minimum competence (or commitment to achieve within 12 months of appointment)
· Computer literacy: MS Office
· Minimum of 10 years Senior Management experience in Electricity and Energy Trading Services, of which at least five (5) must be at an executive level, in a management position with similar scope and complexity
Statutory Professional Body Registration
· Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa as a Professional Engineer Added advantage · Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent
Key Performance Areas
· Oversee and ensure the effective strategic planning, development, management and implementation of all Electricity & Energy Services related projects
· Lead, direct and manage the Electricity and Energy Services Directorate in an effective and efficient manner to ensure the attainment of the strategic objective and goals
· To lead the provision of Electricity & Energy trading service in the Metro in line with business principles that will support the turnaround of the service to a viable and sustainable utility that enables economic growth and satisfactory service delivery
· Ensures strategic Human Resources decisions are dealt with effectively as it re lates to operational efficiencies
· Ensure effective financial management, control and corporate governance through out area of accountability

Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality reserves the right not to fill any or all of the positions advertised at the sole discretion of Council.
