The BMA is established as an armed service in terms of Section 199(3) of the constitution, a third in the country in addition to the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and the South African Police Service (SAPS) through the Border Management Authority Act No 2 of 2020. The Border Management Authority invites suitable candidates to apply for the following vacant position.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
Remuneration and Benefits Advisory
- Advise Human Capital in terms of BMA Remuneration and Benefits as a Service related to the following aspects but not limited to:
- Funeral benefits
- Group Risk Insurance benefits Pension Fund Administration
- Medical Aid benefits and Administration.
- Communication and up skilling of staff relating to the Remuneration and benefits policy.
- Advise on remuneration practices to be followed the BMA.
- Participates in the implementation of remuneration and benefits related policies and procedures.
- Advising and guiding staff in relation to decision outcomes and implementation of remuneration and benefits related matters.
- Provide information on eligibility for participation in particular benefits programs Administration of salary reviews, long-term and short-term incentive schemes.
Remuneration and Benefits Administration
- Assist with the onboarding of new employees in the BMA provident fund, medical aid and salary structure.
- Update and maintain changes in Remuneration and Benefits on the ERP system.
- Verify and collate payroll inputs received from divisions.
- Review data for accuracy, compliance and completeness and follow up on all outstanding documents.
- Verify all supporting documents of new hires prior to upload on the ERP system.
- Create remuneration and benefits processing files and ensure all documents are filed according to BMA policies and procedures.
- Prepare remuneration input from documents and prepare spreadsheets for system upload and import onto the internal ERP system.
- Facilitate and administer new medical aid applications and amendments between employees and service providers.
- Run ERP Reports on remuneration and benefits as required.
- Reconcile all variable pay on a monthly basis
- Resolve leave queries and allocate leave quotas on the ERP system for all employees.
- Process leaves requests for temporary employees who doesn’t have access to the ERP system.
- Administration of salary surveys and other benchmarking exercises.
- Administer benefits campaigns to run throughout the organisation as part of benefits awareness.
- Administration of Employee Recognition Awards programme.
Systems, tools and analytics
- Assist to generates insights from Reward Analytics to inform policy and implementation decisions, measure ROI and effectiveness of benefit programs.
- Assist with the reporting and analytics in partnership with People Data Analytics or within BMA.
- Assist with the submission of survey information and benchmarking of external practices on benefit policies.
- Assist with workday Benefits and successful implementation, data input and administration.
Risk and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all statutory or legal requirements.
- Assist in identifying and adhering to fraud controls, risk prevention principles, sound governance and compliance processes, and tools to identify and manage risks.
- Support and provide evidence to all internal and external audit requirements.
- Maintain quality risk management standards in line with relevant requirements.
- Maintain and enforce all related Service Level Agreements to minimise business risk and ensure business continuity.
- Review related Standard Operating Procedures in consultation with the Manager to ensure business optimisation.
- Adhere to all relevant laws, policies and Standard Operating Procedures throughout the organisation.
Stakeholder Support
- Liaise with 3rd Party providers to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the service provided.
- Respond to enquiries by gathering, analysing, summarising, and interpreting data.
- Provide general support and assistance on any other remuneration administration and related deliverables.
- Promptly and attentively respond to customer requests and queries within established parameters and timeframes.
- Conduct induction and training workshops as and when needed.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate and liaise with employees concerning remuneration & Benefits queries.
Job Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- An Undergraduate Qualification at NQF 7 as recognised by SAQA in Business Management, Commerce or Human Resources or Equivalent.
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of 4 years' experience at supervisory level.
Knowledge
- Knowledge in Administration of Employee Benefits- medical aids and pension funds.
- HR principles and practices. Business Process Improvement experience.
- Knowledge of Remuneration and Benefits principles, processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of Remuneration systems
- Capturing experience
- Border Management Authority Act, 2020.
Other requirements
- Flexibility in working hours will be required to meet demands of the role.
- May be required to work overtime.
- Valid driver’s License
