Minimum requirements
- The position requires the incumbent to have a relevant Law degree.
- Chartered Institute of Secretaries qualification will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years appropriate experience after admission as an attorney. A minimum of 3 years’ experience at management level.
- Knowledge of legal prescripts (Companies Act, PFMA, King Reports on Corporate Governance, etc.).
- The position requires that the incumbent must have experience in providing the necessary support and guidance to the Board, Board Committees and the Chief Executive Officer as to their rights, duties and powers.
- The incumbent should have experience in interpreting and commenting on relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Must have a valid driver’s licence, code 8 (EB) and be in a position to drive such a vehicle.
- Computer skills are essential (Microsoft etc.).
- Experience in people management will be an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
To support the Board of Trustees and Chief Executive Officer in the execution of their duties and functions in terms of legislative, good corporate governance and service delivery requirements. The Board Secretary reports to the Board of Trustees and is expected to report to the Chief Executive Officer administratively:
- Effective coordination and management of all Board and Committee meetings.
- Secretarial and administrative support to the Board and its Committees.
- Promotion of sound Corporate Governance.
- Accurate records management.
- Managing the budget allocated to the Board

Minimum Requirements:
- Must have completed Matric.
- NQF Level 7 Degree
- A Master’s Degree Qualification in Agriculture/Economics/Commerce/Business Administration/Development Management Studies/Project Management/Financial Management or relevant field of study, would be an added advantage
- A valid driver’s license.
Experience
- 5 years or more senior managerial working experience preferably within the public sector, or private sector.
- Experience in the facilitation, developing and management of partnership agreements with various stakeholders.
Knowledge:
- Knowledge and experience of financial, market/price and risk analysis in the agricultural, agribusiness and food sectors.
- Knowledge and experience in the formulation and implementation of agricultural/agribusiness development strategies and approaches.
- Networking with stakeholders and report writing skills.
- Knowledge of Government’s land reform Programme and post transfer business processes.
- Provide advice to the CEO and Board on key issues and make recommendations on business decisions. Extensive programme and project management experience.
- Knowledge of relevant legal prescripts. Extensive networks within the agricultural, agribusiness and food sectors both nationally and internationally

CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR AN INDIVIDUAL TO SERVE AS CHAIRPERSON OF THE AUDIT AND RISK COMMITTEE OF THE AGRIBUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (ADA)
The ADA seeks to appoint a suitably qualified professional to serve as Chairperson of the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) of the Entity.
The members of the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC) are remunerated in terms of the applicable Treasury Regulations and relevant approvals/proclamations by the National Treasury. The term of office of the appointed candidate will be 24 months.
QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- A degree in Accounting/Finance/Risk Management/Internal Audit/Law or
- A professional designation such as CA(SA)/ACCA/AGA(SA)/CIA/CISA or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Professional membership of a recognised profession will be an added
- Experience in serving as an Audit Committee Member or governance structure in a government institution will be another advantage.
