INDEPENDENT DEVELOPMENT TRUST (IDT)
 
The IDT is a Schedule 2 Public Entity, established as a development management agency. Its primary role is to influence, support and add value to the national agenda. The IDT is mandated to measurably impact on the eradication of poverty and to improve the quality of life of poor, rural and marginalised communities. To assist us in achieving this, we wish to appoint dynamic individuals in the following positions: 
 
POST : GENERAL MANAGER: SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT 
JOB LEVEL : DU 
REGION : NATIONAL OFFICE 
LOCATION : PRETORIA 
DURATION : 5 YEAR CONTRACT 
PORTFOLIO : FINANCIAL SERVICES UNIT 
 
PURPOSE :To manage and be accountable for the Supply Chain Management function of the organisation to ensure that corporate objectives are achieved efficiently, effectively and in accordance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements. 
 
REPORTING : Chief Executive Officer

REQUIREMENTS : Minimum of a Post Graduate Degree (NQF Level 9), preferably a Masters in a SCM related field. A finance/legal or related Degree would be an advantage. Minimum 9 years management experience in a Supply Chain Management environment at least 3 years of which were at a senior management level. 
Competencies: Supply Chain Management, High level knowledge of PFMA, Treasury SCM regulations, CIDB regulations, Government Policies and Legislation, Asset Management, Business Management, People Management, Financial Management, Budget Management, Strategic Management and Cross-Functional Team Management. 
Skills: Conceptual Skills, Visionary Thinking, Motivational Skills, Decision Making Skills, Business Acumen, Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills, Problem solving Skills, Conflict Management Skills and Analytical Skills. 
 
DUTIES : Supply Chain Management strategy, policies, standards and procedures. Supply Chain Management systems, SCM risks management, Asset Management, Procurement Management, Sub-unit’s Financial Management and Sub-unit General Management.
