INDEPENDENT DEVELOPMENT TRUST (IDT)
The IDT is a Schedule 2 Public Entity, established as a development management agency. Its primary role is to influence, support and add value to the national agenda. The IDT is mandated to measurably impact on the eradication of poverty and to improve the quality of life of poor, rural and marginalised communities. To assist us in achieving this, we wish to appoint dynamic individuals in the following positions:
POST : CHIEF AUDIT EXECUTIVE

REGION : NATIONAL OFFICE
LOCATION : PRETORIA
DURATION : 5 YEAR CONTRACT
PORTFOLIO : OCEO
PURPOSE :To build and lead the internal audit function in order to provide independent and objective assurance and consulting activities to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
REPORTING : Functionally to Audit and Risk Committee and administratively to Chief Executive Officer
REQUIREMENTS : Post graduate degree in auditing or accounting, Professional designation such as CIA or other relevant professional designations (CISA, CRMA, CRISC). Membership of IIA. A minimum of 5 to 8 years’ internal audit experience, 3 of which should have been at senior management level. Extensive exposure to governance, internal control and risk management disciplines. Extensive knowledge of PFMA, Treasury Regulations and Institute of Internal auditors (IIA) standards.
Competencies: Risk Management. Good knowledge of IIA Standards - International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing ISPPIA) is essential, Internal Controls, Internal Audit Systems, Financial Reporting, Financial Systems, PFMA, Fraud Detection & Prevention Strategies, Accounting Packages, Strategic Management and Corporate Governance. Skills: Planning Skills, Negotiation Skills, Presentation Skills, Analytical Skills, Interpersonal Skills, Observation Skills, Communication Skills, Problem-solving Skills, Computer Skills, Contract Interpretation Skills, People Management Skills and MS Project.

DUTIES: Establish and lead the internal audit function. Develop and deliver a disciplined approach of evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the organizations controls, governance and risk management processes. Implement the annual audit plan as approved by the Audit Committee. Sub-unit financial management and governance. Sub-unit leadership and management
