The position of Specialist: PR and Reputation Management is vacant. The will report directly to the Senior Manager: PR and Reputation Management and forms part of the Member Service and Experience Division. The position is based at Head Office in Pretoria.
The remuneration package for this position is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.


The Specialist: PR and Reputation Management will be required to provide support to the Senior Manager: PR and Reputation Management through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
• Supporting the design of PR and Reputation Management Strategy
• Supporting all Media Relations activities
• PR and Reputation Management intelligence and media monitoring
• Helping to create a best-in-class PR & Reputation function across the Scheme that promotes positive public awareness, ensures consistent share of voice measured against industry competitors, positively impacting the perception of the brand and its offerings.
• Building and maintain relationships with media contacts and other influencers
• Organising, scheduling, and preparing spokespeople for press interviews
• Ensuring all external communication messaging and materials are of high quality
• Drafting press releases, pitches, case studies, white papers, and media summaries, and pitch story ideas & content to media.
• Responding to media queries.
• Arranging media engagements where necessary.
• Creating relationships with media houses.
• Identifying potential reputation risks and proactively manage these.
• Implementing PR tactics.


Qualification requirements are:
• Diploma/Degree in Communication, PR, Digital Media, Marketing or equivalent NQF 6 qualifications.
• 3-5 Years’ work experience in marketing, branding and public relations.
• Excellent organisational and project management abilities
• Demonstrated relationship-building skills, with a superior ability to make things happen through the use of positive influence, particularly with media
• High degree of personal initiative, a self-starter
• Strong problem-solving skills; comfortable tackling complex problems independently and the knowledge of when it is appropriate to escalate to management
• Superior multi-tasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, often deadline-oriented and dynamic environment
• Conceptual and practical thinking and implementation skills
• Process design and analysis skills
• Research, analysis and judgment skills
• Strong PowerPoint skills, intermediate Excel skills
• Understanding of the Medical Scheme industry advantageous.

EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT: MEMBER SERVICE AND EXPERIENCE

The position of Executive Assistant is vacant. The Executive Assistant will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and forms part of the Member Service and Experience Division. The position is based at Head Office.
 The total remuneration package for this position is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
 The Executive Assistant will be required to provide support to the Chief Marketing Officer through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
• Manage Executive calendar to ensure that all meetings are scheduled via Executive Assistant/ agreed SOP
• Booking attendance of events, conferences and seminars both domestic and internationally
• Screening of incoming telephone calls and handle queries in an appropriate manner and engage with both internal and external customer queries
• Maintain and update the division’s Annual Plan
• Ensure that all documentations are circulated and submitted as per the Year Planner e.g. Access the board portal on a regular basis to ensure compliance to action items and agenda inputs
• Prepare and circulate all divisional meeting documents e.g. agenda, action list, minutes, presentations etc
• Circulation for input and approval as well as submissions of documents for Board and Committee packs as per SOP’s
• Preparation and collation of weekly, monthly and quarterly reports as required
• Circulate office communication as required by Executive
• Editing of memorandums, presentations and other documentation as required to ensure alignment to Corporate Identity (formatting, spelling etc)
• Provides administrative support (e.g. minutes/notes/actions) in meetings
• Communication on behalf of the Executive to Service Providers if escalated by the Providers
• Coordinating the delivery of services provided by the Service Providers, including but not limited to scheduling; monitoring; evaluation of service delivery and payment
• Producing professional documents using MS Office
• Planning and tracking key business deliverables and reports through basic project management reporting


Qualification, skills and competencies requirements are:
• Minimum two (2) year qualification in Administration or Secretarial Studies, or equivalent NQF Level
• A diploma/degree in Marketing and/ or Communication or a related field will an added advantage
• At least 2 years’ experience in an Executive/ Personal Assistant role
• Experience within a Marketing and Communication environment would be advantageous
• Proficient in computer software such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with office administrative systems e.g. HR/ Procurement Systems
• Excellent written English and the ability to communicate at all levels
• Experience in the Healthcare Industry would be advantageous

SENIOR MANAGER: KEY INDIVIDUAL

The position of Senior Manager: Key Individual is vacant. The Senior Manager: Key Individual will report directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and forms part of the Member Service and Experience division. The position is based in Head Office.
The total remuneration package for this position is negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
 
The Senior Manager: Key Individual will be required to provide support to the Chief Marketing Officer through the implementation of the following Key Performance Areas (KPAs):
• Ensuring that the Scheme has policies & procedures in place to act and function as a Financial Services Provider ("FSP").
• Manage and oversee the activities relating to financial service rendered by the Scheme.
• Ensuring the Scheme's adherence to all requirements to ensure accreditation as an FSP, including the General Code of Conduct and Fit & Proper Requirements.
• Supervise Representatives working under supervision.
• In collaboration with FAIS Compliance Officer, ensure, track and monitor the adherence of the compliance processes and procedures.
• Maintain a register of the representatives providing advice and intermediary services to members.
• Manage, monitor, and ensure that quality customer service is delivered.
• Take the initiative to ensure that Scheme's objectives are met, and targets are exceeded.
• Adhere to operational objectives, plans and policies of GEMS in execution of responsibilities.
• Interpret operational plans, policies and objectives accordingly.
• Execute day to day work in line with GEMS policies and procedures
• Remain abreast of all policies and procedures as updated from time to time.
• Oversee the regional KI’s in terms FSP activities.
 
Qualification, skills and competencies requirements are:
• Relevant NQF7 level qualification as per FSCA approved qualifications list or NQF7 qualification as well as a qualification as per the FSCA approved qualifications list
• RE1 and RE5.
• Up to date CPD points for each previous cycle as well as the current cycle.
• Completed Class of Business for the Health sub-category.
• Current / Previous (reasonably recent) FSCA approval of appointment as a Key Individual of an authorised FSP
• CFP advantageous.
• A minimum of 5 years FAIS related management experience
