GERT SIBANDE DISTRICT MUNICIPALITY INFRASTRUCTURE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT GRANT (ISDG) MENTORSHIP PROGRAMME 2019 Gert Sibande District Municipality is currently rolling out infrastructure skills development programmes In municipalities, the purpose of which is to strengthen the planning, delivery and maintenance of infrastructure through institutional capacity building and advancement of job creation in the region. Applications are invited from suitably qualified Mentors in the following fields:
Town and Regional Planning/Urban and Regional Planning Remuneration will be at R1 100.00 hourly at 14 hours per graduate on a monthly basis Requirements: • An accredited B degree in the Urban and Planning field of study • Registration as Professional in the South African Council for Planners • At least 5 years' working experience • The ability to train and mentor Urban and Planning graduates • Computer literacy. Geographic Information System (GIS) Remuneration will be at R1 100.00 hourly at 14 hours per graduate on a monthly basis Requirements: • An accredited B degree in the Geographical Information System (GIS) field of study • Registration as Professional GIS Practitioner (SAGC) • At least 5 years' working experience • The ability to train and mentor GIS graduates • Computer literacy. INFRASTRUCTURE SKILLS DEVELOPMENT GRANT (ISDG) GRADUATES PROGRAMME 2019 The Gert Sibande District Municipality, jointly with National Treasury, hereby invites applications from suitably qualified unemployed graduates to participate in a 3-year fixed-term contract programme in the following disciplines: Discipline: Civil Engineering Minimum Qualification: BEng and/or BSc and/or BTech Numbers: 2 Discipline: Geographic Information System (GIS) Minimum Qualification: BSc in Geomatics and/or BSc Geo-Informatics and/or BSc (Hoes) Geo-informatics Numbers: 2 Discipline: Town Planning Minimum Qualification: BSc in Town and Regional Planning and/or in Urban and Regional Planning and/or Honours in Town and Regional Planning and in Urban and Regional Planning Numbers: 3 Discipline: Electrical Engineering Minimum Qualification: BEng and/or BSc and/or BTech Numbers: 2 Discipline: Laboratory Chemistry Technician Minimum Qualification: BSc and/or BSc in Agric and/or BSc Honours and/or BTech Numbers: 1 Discipline: Laboratory Microbiology Technician Minimum Qualification: BSc and/or BSc in Agric and/or BSc Honours and/or BTech Numbers: 1 Discipline: Building Construction Minimum Qualification: BEng and/or BSc and/or BTech Numbers: 2 Discipline: Land Surveyor Minimum Qualification: BSc in Land Surveying and/or BSc in Geomatics Numbers: 2 In making the final selection, preference will be given to applicants meeting the following important criteria: • Suitably qualified and unemployed • A valid Code 08 driver's licence will be an added advantage • Appointment will be made in the context of Employment Equity • Must be a South African citizen in possession of the valid SA ID • Must be under the age of 35. Academic context must be realistic match to the academic requirements for professional registration with respective statutory Council.
