The KwaZulu-Natal Nature Conservation Board, trading as Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, is a PFMA Schedule 3C public entity established in terms of the KwaZulu-Natal Nature Conservation Management Act (Act No. 9 of 1997).
 

THE ENTITY
The entity is responsible for the management of nature conservation within the Province of KwaZulu-Natal including protected areas as well as development and promotion of ecotourism and facilities within the protected areas. Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife wishes to appoint a suitable candidate into the position of Permits Manager to be based at Head Office, Pietermaritzburg.
 
REMUNERATION PACKAGE
Total Remuneration Package: R 455,793.16 p/a
This position is graded at C Upper on a structured Paterson job grading system. An all-inclusive structured salary package (negotiable), consisting of a basic salary, 13th Cheque, contributions to the Provident Fund and Medical
Aid. The appointment is subject to the signing of a Performance Agreement.

THE PRIMARY ROLE
The primary function of the Permits Manager position is to oversee the issuing of permits in terms of legislation and organisational policies and procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
This position is suited to a South African citizen who is multi-skilled, dynamic, self-motivated professional.
In addition, the applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:
· Grade 12 (matric) is mandatory
· National Diploma in Nature Conservation or equivalent is mandatory
· Degree in Environmental studies/BTech in Nature Conservation is desired
· 2 - 3 years’ experience in dealing with permit applications is mandatory
· At least 6 months years Supervisory experience is mandatory
