Remuneration: R12 000, 00 stipend per month
 
CIPC (a member of the dtic) is committed to youth skills development by providing graduates with opportunities to gain work experience to complement their studies. Applicants are invited for an Internship Programme that would run for a period of 24 months. Interns will be placed in our Sunnyside Office (Pretoria).
 
WHAT IS INTERNSHIP
As contemplated by Cabinet in December 2002, an Internship is a public service graduate work experience programme targeting unemployed graduates. It gives students workplace experience or an opportunity to practice the work skills that they have studied and will practice in the future.
 
Beneficiaries of the Internship programme:
  • Unemployed South African graduates from higher education institutions who have completed their degrees/diplomas.
  • Unemployed graduates who have not been exposed to work experience.
  • Unemployed graduates who have never participated in the Internship programme.
  • Applicants must be between ages of 18 to 35 years old.
 
Successful applicants will be expected to sign a Graduate Internship Programme Agreement.

Job purpose: 
The Chief Technology Officer is responsible for defining Enterprise and Solutions Architecture standards and working with the various teams to ensure that architecture standards are being adhered to. The Chief Technology Officer will be responsible for developing and leading the architecture group that defines and develops architecture solutions and instilling an architecture perspective and discipline within the technology organization and among key business stakeholders.
 
Required minimum experience: 
  • 10 to 15 years’ experience in IT
  • Success in defining and implementing effective IT governance frameworks and architectural processes within a large corporation
  • Ten or more years of relevant leadership experience in enterprise technology strategy development, application and infrastructure portfolio management, global enterprise architecture, technology team transformation, crisis/risk management, IT strategy development and execution
  • Deep knowledge of/experience with:
  • Enterprise, application and information architecture
  • Technology road mapping
  • Applications technology strategy
  • Architecture group leadership and reengineering
  • Extensive technology vendor management experience implementing third-party technologies within complex environments
  • Recent experience leading senior architecture groups covering applications and infrastructure
 
Key performance areas:
  •  Lead and manage a team of technology and business architects that are responsible for setting architectural and technology direction for the organization.
  •  Define and implement consistent architecture and technology governance practices for the organization throughout the planning and delivery cycles. Provide both technology and architecture oversight and governance as part of this process.
  •   Lead architecture efforts that promote and implement greater architectural consistency and technology sharing across the organization.
  • Promote the role of architectural best practices; communicating effectively with all key stakeholders and actively promoting the needs and benefits of governance, architecture and standards.
  • Lead efforts with the Divisional Manager: Service Delivery to define the overall technology strategy and ensure the realization of goals such as reuse, infrastructure simplification, cost management and flexibility
  •  Build strong cross-organizational relationships and effectively influence staff across the IT organization and broader enterprise.
  • Develop the architecture community within the Division and mentor architects in the development of their skills.
