Minimum Requirements: 
• Grade 12, plus a Tertiary qualification in Heritage Studies, Museum Studies or Conservation / NQF level 7; 
• 5 – 7 years working experience as a conservation officer in a museum/arts/ heritage environment; 
• Management experience, at least junior management level; 
 
Primary Function: 
Manage the conservation unit of the City of Joburg Museums to ensure international museum accredited standards in terms of preservation are met, including all administrative duties associated with managing a team of conservators. Ensure that all objects in the collection are protected from risk and deterioration, which might arise from adverse climate condition or poor storage conditions. Protect the City’s assets from depreciation in value and to contribute to the preservation and promotion of Southern Africa’s rich cultural heritage. Advise curators on conservation methods.

Minimum Requirements: 
• Grade 12 plus Tertiary qualification Museum Conservation or Heritage studies (NQF level 6); 
• 3 – 4 years’ experience, [preferably with experience in a variety of material as found in Museum and Galleries. 
 
Primary Function 
Preserve, conserve and restore the items in the museum’s collections by ensuring that the items are protected for risks arising from poor storage, transport, adverse climatic, exhibition conditions or biological attack, in consultation with the curatorial team and preparing procedures and policy for this. Assess, clean, treat and conserve damaged items and restore where appropriate and ethical and keep record of such treatment. Provide support and advise to the curatorial team in preparation for exhibitions; assessing loans out and received; assessing items for purchase. Provide input to the budget for this area of operation.

Primary Function:

Minimum Requirements: 
• Matric Certificate plus Diploma in Property Management / Public Management / Human Settlement or any Built environment related qualifications at NQF level 6. 
• 1 - 3 years’ relevant experience in Building Management / Human Settlement. 
• Knowledge of housing programs and property management concept and functions. 
• Knowledge of building related processes; 
• Must have valid driver’s license. 
 
Primary Function:
Responsible for day-to-day administration and management within public stock (row houses, flats, old age homes, informal settlements and hostels). Initiate upgrade interventions within informal settlements in line with City’s objectives and the upgrading of informal Settlement Programme as contained in the Housing Code 2009.
