STATISTICS & DATA MANAGER
Location: Midrand, Gauteng
Job Profile:
The Statistics and Data Manager role is responsible for the consolidation and analysis of organisational information for internal and external reporting requirements. It is further responsible for the identification of trends and for formulating recommendations to address these. The Statistics and Data Manager will interact with the Development Manager and the client, Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) to ensure and manage efficient processes to deliver data requirements to the business and client.

- Develops, implements and monitors statistics performance indicators;
- Identifies and directs the implementation of appropriate enabling technologies for Statistics;
- Manages data integrity of business information systems;
- Develops and ensures the effective implementation of strategies for Statistics;
- Consolidates information received from Data Capturers and packages data as per Government requirements;
- Interprets and analyses quantitative and qualitative information received in order to identify trends;
- Utilises data mining techniques in order to identify factors driving business results;
- Formulates statistical modelling techniques and/or tools to ensure information is captured and reported as per agreed objectives;
- Presents statistical results and reports to internal and external stakeholders;
- Formulates recommendations and provides an advisory service to management regarding trends identified;
- Prepares monthly/quarterly management reports detailing Group indicators and other relevant information;
- Maintains employee relations;
- Manages employee performance;
- Trains, mentors and coaches subordinates;
- Selects, assigns and leads/manages people;
- Manages the transactional human resource administration;
- Manages, guides and directs employee career aspirations;
- Develops and implements specific targeted programmes to motivate employees in specific work environments.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree: Mathematics / Statistics;
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) added advantage;
- Compliance / Risk Management related qualification will be an advantage;
- Minimum five years’ working experience, including statistics, and reporting;
- Understanding of process improvement principles including root cause analysis;
- Ability to contextualise and understand impact of deficient controls on risk exposure;
- Strong problem-solving skills;
- Willingness to work after hours, and weekends especially during the month-end reporting process.
