MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
Location: Head Office, Nelspruit, Mpumalanga
Job Profile:
Working on Fire is a government-funded, multi-partner organisation that focuses on Integrated Fire Management, including fighting Veld and Forest fires. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual for the accountant role. The role is responsible to provide accurate and meaningful management financial data in order to inform decision making. To ensure compliance with Finance policies and procedures in area of responsibility / to provide accurate and timeous financial management, reporting and analysis for the relevant Business Unit, ensuring corporate governance.

- Product / Project Costing and margin improvement;
- Management Reporting;
- Collate and prepare management accounts on a monthly basis;
- Analyse, interpret and comment on monthly financial results (actual vs budget);
- Budgeting and forecasting;
- Cost Control;
- Capture information up to trial balance level;
- Review general ledger reconciliations, prepare comments and implement actions within the required timeframe;
- Ensure tax, legal, statutory and internal authority compliance;
- Facilitate mini-audits in order to ensure compliance;
- Prepare for internal and external audits and present audit files according to deadlines;
- Evaluate and monitor working capital (including debtors, creditors and cash);
- Contribute to the implementation of new financial systems and processes.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or CIMA is required;
- Post graduate qualification in finance will be advantageous;
- Completed articles will be advantageous;
- Have a working knowledge of, and experience in, Public Sector and Procurement Practices and Legislation;
- Experience in Pastel evolution is advantageous;
- Minimum three years’ previous experience;
- Industry experience advantageous.
