FINANCE ANALYST
Location: Head Office, Nelspruit, Mpumalanga
 
Job Profile:
Working on Fire is a government- funded, multi-partner organisation that focuses on Integrated Fire Management, including fighting Veld and Forest fires. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual for the role of Finance Analyst, responsible for developing, reviewing, analysing and implementing key controls to support the Finance Department as per the Company’s financial policies and procedures.
 Reports to: Financial Manager

 Key Performance Areas:
  • Drafting Financial reports for Management and other Stakeholders;
  • Review, analysis and interpretation of financial reporting, including Provincial and National Reporting;
  • Monitoring and reporting on internal control environment;
  • Review and testing of internal controls (existence and operating effectiveness);
  • Review, analysis and interpretation of Payroll and SCM reporting;
  • Review, analysis and interpretation of various KPI’s;
  • Develop, analyse and implement key controls over stock and fixed asset management;
  • Drafting reports, including analysis and interpretation of stock and fixed asset management;
  • Drafting and assisting with drafting of budgets;
  • Assistance and interaction with External and Internal Audit;
  • Perform financial forecasting, reporting and operational metrics tracking;
  • Analyse financial data and create financial models for decision support;
  • Analyse past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends and make recommendations for improvements;
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analysing actual results with plans and forecasts;
  • Provide analysis of trends and forecasts and recommend actions for optimisation.
  
 Job Requirements:
  • B-Com graduate with completed SAICA articles. CA (SA) will be advantageous;
  • Have a working knowledge of and experience in Public Sector and Procurement Practices and Legislation;
  • Five years+ Financial Management experience: specifically, in analysing & reviewing financial information;
  • Strategic accounting, budgeting and financial control experience;
  • Experience in Pastel evolution is advantageous;
  • Compliance with sound Corporate Governance Principles;
  • Demonstrated, advanced MS office excel skill;
  • Willingness to work overtime, on weekends and public holidays as required.
