STUDENT S GOVERNANCE TRAINING OFFICER (STUDENT DEVELOPMENT OFFICER) Requirements: • An appropriate M+3 Degree/Diploma in Public Administration/Management, Education, Social Work, and Psychology. • A minimum of two (2) years’ working experience within Student Affairs in a University environment. • Exposure in conducting facilitation and developing training materials. • Experience in Student Leadership guidance and support. • Knowledge of relevant higher education legislative framework Skills and competencies • Proven record of student development and training. • Exposure and experience in managing training sessions. • Extensive knowledge of student administration and support. • Sensitivity to student’s needs and ability to play advocacy role for students. • Ability to implement policies and advance a vibrant campus life for students • Effective communication skills and ability to work in teams. Duties Duties include but not limited to the following: • Initiate, implement and evaluate training and development programmes for student leaders. • Promote a vibrant campus life through campaigns that enhances the quality of student life. • Guide and support the development of student structures as well as Student Representative Council. • Support strategic alignment in developing a second curriculum for competent student leaders. • Promote good governance by ensuring compliance with University policies, rules and regulations. • Manage resources allocated students in accordance with the approved policies. • Conduct regular awareness workshops to equip and educate student leaders structures on existing and new approved university polices. • Conduct political, social and religious development as well tolerance workshops with relevant stakeholders. • Rotationally consolidate activities report for all training and development initiatives conducted on monthly basis. • Support the Annual Performance Plan (APP) of Student Life, Governance and Development under Student Affairs Division.
