Requirements
Grade 12 or equivalent qualification and records management experience. The National Archives Certificate on Records Management and/or a three-year tertiary qualification will be an added advantage. The skills required for this position are Good and effective communication (written and verbal); Computer literacy (MS Word and MS Excel); Personal Attributes: The candidate must be able to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure. Good knowledge and experience of computer applications such as Ms Office (Word, Excel) will be required
Duties
Ensure that records are archived in line with registry procedures. Maintain an efficient record keeping system; proper maintenance and application of an approved file plan; proper filing of records which includes the classification, neat and correct placing of documents on files; responsible for the maintenance of all files in terms of archive regulations. Making files available on request; tracing of files and other administrative tasks; opening and closing of files and daily mail; dispatch of outgoing mail; courier of documents; safe custody and protection of records. Any work delegated from time to time.
