TSHWANE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (TEDA) “To cultivate an environment within which the City of Tshwane can grow its human capital and the economy through the facilitation, implementation and management of developments with a specific focus on Economic Development and associated activities within Tshwane” MANAGER: CATALYTIC PROJECTS (R947 607.00 - All-inclusive salary Package) (Ref: TEDA077/2024) Competencies and Qualifications: A valid Grade 12 certificate with an appropriate tertiary career-related qualification (National diploma or bachelor’s degree) in Urban /Town and Regional Planning or relevant qualification. 3 years’ experience in a development planning environment with 2 years in a Specialist/Planning role. Experience in project management of town planning processes (Project Management qualification will be an advantage). Exceptional skills in stakeholder partnering, adaptability, communication, innovation, analytical thinking skills, monitoring and evaluation, judgement and decision making. Valid Driver’s license. Key responsibilities: The incumbent will report to the Senior Manager - Catalytic Projects and will be responsible to develop, implement, identify, gather critical data to inform the planning process of land and property identification. Participate in the planning and design of property development projects from conceptualization to implementation. Provide development planning technical support (including township establishment and zoning) and development rights technical support. Manage all aspects relating to spatial forward planning within TEDA like identifying forward planning projects. Undertake land suitability assessment and identification within the scope of catalytic project development for investment attraction. Manage the professional consultants involved in the assessment of identified land to ensure suitability. Undertake need and desirability assessments, site inspections and investigate the development history of sites. Develop reports detailing the outcome of the assessments and feasibilities. Convene regular catalytic projects planning meetings and prepare regular town planning reports to Senior Manager. Attend meetings with strategic partners to facilitate town planning approvals for projects on the pipeline. Monitor, compile reports and update filing system on project implementation documentation.
