TOURISM KWAZULU NATAL The KwaZulu-Natal Tourism & Film Authority, a statutory authority responsible for the promotion, marketing, and development of tourism and film in KwaZulu-Natal, invites applications from suitably qualified people for the following position: INDEPENDENT CHAIRPERSON: AUDIT AND RISK COMMITTEE (Ref: Independent Chairperson ARC) The Audit and Risk Committee as constituted by the KwaZulu-Natal Tourism and Film Authority Act 02 of 2024 seeks to appoint an independent Chairperson. The Audit and Risk Committee will meet at least four (4) times per annum and/or as determined by the operational needs of the organisation. The successful candidate will be offered a three (3) year performance based contract. Requirements: NQF level 8 relevant post-graduate qualification with a minimum of five years’ experience at senior management in any of the following fields: Accounting/Auditing/Financial Management/Risk Management or related fields. The candidate should be in good standing with the relevant professional bodies (SAICA, IIA, IRBA etc), membership with IODSA will be an added advantage. Essential Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required Extensive knowledge of PFMA and Treasury regulations. Experience in processing Annual Financial Statements under IFRS and GRAAP. Experience in audit methodologies, financial management, principles relating to governance, risk management and compliance frameworks. Proven experience in serving in Audit or Risk or Compliance Board Committee. Key Responsibilities Participate in the development of audit and risk strategies. Review and recommend policies to Board. Provide oversight on governance and compliance. Internal audit quality assurance. Provide an oversight on financial management of the organisation.
