ROADS AGENCY LIMPOPO (RAL) The Roads Agency Limpopo SOC was established under the Limpopo Province Roads Agency Proprietary Limited and Provincial Roads Act 07 of 1998, as amended (RAL Act). RAL is mandated for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of the Limpopo Provincial Road infrastructure. The Head Office of RAL is in Polokwane, 26 Rabe Street.
The Roads Agency Limpopo invites applications from suitable, innovative, and credible candidates for the filling of the following vacancy: SENIOR MANAGER: COMMUNICATIONS MARKET-RELATED COST TO COMPANY REQUIREMENTS: • BA Degree in Communications, Media Studies or Public Relations or Journalism or Administration. • BA Honours In Media Studies, Communications, Public Relations, Public Administration, / Postgraduate Diploma majoring in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Public Relations, a must. • 7 Years experience working in Media, Communications, or public Relations environment at a senior managerial level. 3-5 years' experience as a • Spokesperson. • Proven experience in corporate publications or Journalism or published articles with by-lines. These and proof of where they were published, should be submitted with the application documents. • Experience in people management. • Proven experience in proofreading and editing of corporate publications. • Master of Business Leadership (MBL) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) and experience in Stakeholder Relations will be an added advantage. • Drivers licence. • Professional registration with Public Relations Institute of SA (PRISA) or participation in the national press club will be an added advantage. SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES: • Ability to lead, motivate and operate at both at senior managerial and strategic level. • Ability to manage a team (people management). • Good oral and written communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Understanding of the South African electronic and print media environment • Understanding of social media • Understanding of the South African government communications and policies. KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS AND MAIN TASKS (BUT NOT LIMITED TO): • Develop and implement all marketing & communications, public relations media, social media, stakeholder management and publications strategies and policies. • Lead the strategic and operational planning to positively profile the Agency. • Perform functions as a Spokesperson.* Assist and support the Stakeholder Relations Unit in terms of development and implementation of strategies.* Foster stakeholder relations ensure decimation of information to stakeholders. • Develop and maintain effective relationships, partnerships with relevant organisations e.g. SANRAL, strategic partners and media. • Establish and maintain relationships with the Agency's Stakeholders • Write speeches, press releases or other materials for executives, CEO, Board where necessary. • Monitoring the media and social media for mentions of the Agency's services. • Planning, promoting, and producing corporate events. • Evaluating effectiveness of all strategies, policies and develop the mitigating and solution driven strategies where necessary. • Identifying and cultivating relationships with print, broadcast, or online media outlets that may be interested in featuring stories about the Agency. • Manage the Unit's budget and staff. • Train and motivate staff. • Perform any other relevant and reasonable task as and when required.
