ROAD ACCIDENT FUND (RAF)
 
The Road Accident Fund's mission is to provide appropriate cover to all road users within the borders of South Africa; to rehabilitate and compensate persons injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents in a timely and caring manner; and to actively promote the safe use of our roads.
 
The Organization requires the services of a qualified individual, on a Thirty-four (34) Month Fixed-Term Contract, at its East London Regional Office for the position of:

Purpose of the Job:  To asses and approve the liability of the Fund and in so doing settling the merits aspect of the claim. To further provide support and guidance to the merits assessment team.

Key Performance Areas:
Determine and collecting outstanding documentation / information. 
  • Obtaining information from various stake holders in order to assess merits. 
  • Appoint Assessors for Merits investigation.
 
Approving merits offers in team
  • Applying legal principles to determine the merits of a claim.
  • To approve offers in terms of the delegation of authority. 
  • Assess and co –authorise merits offers.
 
Negotiating settlement
  • Where there is disagreement in respect of the RAF's liability, to negotiate settlement on behalf of the RAF.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
  • NQF 7 (Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma) related qualification to discipline.
  • Relevant 3 years' experience in the claims environment.

Remuneration
A total cost to company of minimum remuneration package applicable to this position is R 349 998.00 per annum and will be negotiable commensurate with experience.

Note: This is a 34 month Fixed-term contract.
 
NB: "RAF offers Total Employment Cost packages with no additional contributions from the Employer; successful candidates are required to structure their packages in manner that will suit their needs".
