The position is further responsible for the provision of legal advisory support and management of the Corporate Legal Services unit and a panel of external lawyers.
Evaluate information from multiple sources and use information to influence decision making, and interpret legal information.
Assist with the management of the finances or budget of the Legal Department. Conduct investigations on regulatory irregularities within Pikitup and make recommendations on improvement. Manage contract management disputes. Review and provide advice on legal implications of internal policies and procedures. Negotiate dispute settlement agreements, and other agreements the business enters into from time to time. Manage instructions to and the work of external legal consultants, legal advisors, and external panel of attorneys. Initiate the development and implementation of regulatory and/or policy positions that enable the work of the entity and its ability to render improved service delivery. Minimum Requirements/Qualifications LLB degree or equivalent. Admission as an attorney or advocate. 5 - 8-years post admission experience. Minimum Experience 5-8 years’ management experience level preferably within a Legal Services environment; Knowledge of and experience within the public sector preferred; Knowledge of and experience with regards to complex legal matters; Understanding of and ability to apply legislation governing Pikitup and its operations; Valid Driver’s Licence plus own car.
