CONTENT MANAGER

Purpose of the position:

We are seeking an experienced creative and strategic marketing Content Manager to join our team. This individual will be responsible for developing compelling content across multiple channels, with a strong emphasis on social media, digital campaigns, and brand storytelling. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and editing skills, along with the ability to design visually appealing assets that enhance engagement and brand visibility, tapping into the latest skills in design systems.



Requirements:

Key Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality content for digital and social media platforms, including graphics, videos, gifs, infographics, and reports.

• Craft compelling narratives for social media, press releases and other written content that align with our brand’s vision and effectively promote tourism, trade, and investment opportunities.

• Design engaging visuals including pitch decks, graphics, banners, presentations, and promotional materials, ensuring a consistent brand identity.

• Manage and execute content calendars to ensure timely and relevant content distribution, with the ability to upload content to social media platforms where relevant

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to create multimedia content that enhances marketing campaigns.

• Monitor social media trends, engagement metrics, and analytics to refine content strategies and optimise performance.

• Upload collateral to the Wesgro website and ad hoc management of site including maintainance of visual assets and copy, ensuring all content is optimised for SEO and digital performance.

• Stay updated on global trade and investment promotion agency trends, emerging digital tools, and best practices in content marketing.

 

Key Competencies & Skills

• Strong graphic design skills with experience using tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva.

• Proficiency in social media management tools with a deep understanding of optimising content for social media.

• Understanding of digital marketing, branding, and content strategy.

• Ability to create short-form content tailored for different platforms.

• Experience in video editing and multimedia content creation.

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and adjust content strategies accordingly.

• Highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.

• Creative thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• A passion for storytelling, tourism, economic development, and place branding.

• Knowledge of latest AI design capabilities will be advantageous.

 

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in content creation, digital marketing, or a related role.

• A strong portfolio showcasing visual content.


The successful candidate will report to the Head: Brand.

PUBLIC RELATIONS & SOCIAL MEDIA OFFICER

Purpose of the position:

This post is responsible for the Management of Wesgro’s social media accounts, as well as proactive and reactive media relations.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is essential.
  • Experience in social media management is essential.
  • Prior experience in media relations is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Exceptional copy-editing skills are necessary.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and during irregular work hours.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the local and broader economic and political environment are advantageous.
  • Experience working in a Public Relations Agency is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with website management is preferred.
  • Knowledge of design and editing software is preferred.
  • We seek a creative and innovative candidate with strong problem-solving skills.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of Wesgro’s social media accounts, including LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.
  • In conjunction with the Brand Team, to implement a content plan for Wesgro’s social media accounts.
  • Draft and distribute Wesgro press-releases.
  • Ensure longer piece communication (opinion editorials) is placed on strategic platforms, or online platforms.
  • Schedule strategic media interviews both locally and internationally.
  • Manage media enquiries from journalists.
  • Draft other content that can be used to promote the destination and Wesgro, including articles for social media, and the Website.
  • Assist in managing communication risks for Wesgro and destination.
  • Maintain good relations with business journalists.
  • Promote Wesgro events, through social media and media relations.
  • In conjunction with the Brand Team, ensure Wesgro research is communicated through compelling content, using available platforms.
