Our role is to position and market Cape Town and the Western Cape as a world-class tourism destination, an investment destination of choice for global and local investors, a sought-after source market for goods and services, and a filmmaker’s hub on the continent. Wesgro is an agency filled with people passionate about this place we live in, passionate about driving its success, and passionate about being innovative and forward-thinking.
Wesgro is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. This Cape Town-based vacancy is on offer to dynamic individuals with the skills and competencies required to perform in this exciting environment.
Purpose of the job:
We are looking for an individual to join our dynamic Marketing and Communications team, who will champion a creative perspective and bring fresh thinking to build onto our already established Wesgro brand. You will own parts of the content strategy, need to be comfortable working with a broad range of stakeholders, and adept at project management.
The successful candidate must be able to align with our consistent brand identity, create a connection to a local and global audience, and build our local and global presence through inspiring, human-centric, and globally consistent content.
Requirements:
A natural storyteller, you'll enjoy getting to the heart of what's important and driving content that brings this message to life in a creative and easy to understand way. You will guide and direct the content processes on all platforms (online, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) in support of brand activities, data-led campaigns, as well as standalone projects.
Key Competencies:
- An experienced channel marketer: adept at managing and creating content for a B2B and B2C audience across channels including: website, mailers, LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
- Experienced in implementing paid advertising on social media platforms to maximise exposure on particular subjects and generate leads
- Passion for content marketing and storytelling
- Solid organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail with a strong ability to keep content messaging aligned
- Excellent project management skills, in addition to a keen sense of initiative, flexibility, and resourcefulness
- Strong creative and communications skills
- Tech savvy and willing to use tools and technology to manage workflow and execution of content delivery
- Be analytically curious and embrace using reporting tools
- Be able to develop relationships and work with a wide array of internal and external partners in content development, production and measurement, video distribution, and social media
- Be a collaborative team member and a provocative contributor
Duties:
- Content production across a variety of mediums, including, but not limited to long form editorial, online and offline, video, podcasts and social media (website, mailers, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok)
- Create monthly and yearly content plans
- Co-create and continuously refine the content strategy for Wesgro to increase brand awareness and our share of voice globally
- Develop compelling content that emotionally connects with our audiences, encouraging them to ‘act’ (invest, export, visit, etc) by integrating brand and data-led campaigns as a key part of our content strategy
- Develop and distribute timely, relevant content for our local and global audiences
- Create audience-specific content journeys, narratives, and corresponding assets, by bringing the relevant teams together in advance and leading them throughout the content process
- Inspire, motivate, and challenge the thinking of our internal teams when it comes to creating compelling relevant content
- Generate and share creative ideas to increase user engagement and spark lead generation
- Work closely with the Head of Brand, PR and Social Media Officer, Designer’s, and our Digital Co-Ordinator to drive clear messaging that’s on brand and supports creative direction
- Work with the Head of Brand to assist in managing external agencies
- Use internal platforms and tools to regularly update and deploy content, through your own initiative and the help of the team
- Work closely with the digital team to monitor the performance of social media through online tools such as campaign dashboards and Google Analytics
- Bring together market trends, competitor analysis, relevant world events, our internal thought leaders points-of-view and your understanding of our audience, to uncover stories our competitors haven’t thought of yet
- Unearth authentic stories across the Agency’s mandates to connect meaningfully with our audience
- Bring this knowledge together, to advise on and create engaging and captivating content, that can speak to our global audience both as a global brand and in support of member firm activity
- Contribute to a ‘helpful’ culture where we work collaboratively as a Content Team, sharing learnings, updates and ongoing suggestions on what can be leveraged or is in need of support
- Monthly social media reporting that indicates growth, trends and other insights that can guide us in our content decisions
The successful candidate will report to the Head of Brand.
