Head: Stakeholder Management (HSM)
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • This position calls for a team player with excellent management, planning and execution skills and the ability to build efficiencies and effectiveness to deliver on the strategy. The incumbent will be responsible for the development and implementation of the Stakeholder management strategy and co-develop and implementation of the strategic plans to strengthen stakeholder management and engagement processes by raising awareness, positioning, and profiling the WRC and enhancing its role in the Water Sector. The Head: Stakeholder Management will form part of the Stakeholder and Communications Branch and will report to the Executive: Stakeholder and Communications.
  • The position of Head: Stakeholder Management will be responsible to develop and implement the Stakeholder management strategy and operational plans. This incumbent will be responsible for overseeing an effective and engaged team towards performance excellence and compliance and to ensure an effective management of stakeholders. The position also requires the incumbent to build a detailed stakeholder map and analysis framework to ensure the understanding of the stakeholders Research Development and Innovation (RDI) needs, and co-developing intervention plans to ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of stakeholder satisfaction.
 
Desired Experience & Qualification
Applicants must be in possession of a bachelor’s degree or NQF level 7 qualification in Social Science/Political Science/Communication or related field. Registration with a professional Stakeholder management or equivalent body will be advantageous.  A minimum of 8 years’ Stakeholder Management or related experience is essential, 5 years of which should be at management level. 2 years’ experience in senior management or related, and experience in water sector and public sector will be advantageous. The Applicant must have knowledge of Strategic stakeholder management and engagement processes and be able to Demonstrate exemplary leadership with excellent communication and writing skills.

In Accordance with Public Finance Management Act and National Treasury Regulations, the WRC seeks to appoint a suitably qualified professional to serve as a Chairperson of the Audit Committee for a period of 4 years.
 
RE- ADVERTISEMENT - CHAIRPERSON OF THE AUDIT COMMITTEE
(4-year contract)
 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Fulfil oversight responsibilities regarding external and internal audit, internal control, financials, risk management, governance, information communication technology, compliance. Direct and lead the Audit Committee as well as account to the Board. Discharge all responsibilities as contained in relevant legislations and or the Audit Committee Charter.
  • Knowledge and understanding of internal controls, major accounting and public sector reporting, organizational performance management, corporate governance. Knowledge of public sector legislation and policies including GRAP. Must be independent and knowledgeable on the status of their positions as Chairperson of the Audit Committee.
  • Strong leadership, ability to maintain independence and objectivity, excellent communication skills, ability to inspire confidence and maintain a balanced view, analytical thinking, facilitation skills, courage to challenge discussions and ask relevant questions, willing to dedicate effort, time and energy to serve the interest of the public. Encourage openness and transparency, healthy professional scepticism and professional approach, excellent relationship builder (among committee members, management, internal and external auditors).
 
Desired Experience & Qualification
A three-year qualification in Accounting/Auditing/Corporate Governance/Financial Management/ Risk Management/Compliance management. Applicants must have at least 10 years’ experience serving as an Audit Committee Member in the public sector environment.
 
Package & Remuneration
Compensation will be in accordance with rates as determined by the National Treasury. All other refundable expenses are based on the WRC’s related policies in line with the National Treasury guidelines.

If you are a skilled, motivated, and dedicated Group Assistant who will be able to provide administrative and secretarial support to multiple stakeholders by assisting with office operations and travel arrangements, then this opportunity is for you.
  • The position of a Group Assistant will provide the Stakeholder and Impact team with administrative support by maintaining up to date travel and logistics filing system for the Branch, capturing requisitions and purchase orders on accounting systems and facilitating for their payments, preparation of memorandums for registration to conference and/or workshops when required, submission of travel plans for the team as well as compiling and maintaining stakeholder database on an ongoing basis. The Group Assistant will form part of the Stakeholder and Impact team and will report to the Executive: Stakeholder and Communications.
  • Applicants must be in possession of a NQF 5 Diploma in secretarial/administrative services. A Diploma/Degree in secretarial/administrative services will be an added advantage. A minimum of least 3 years’ experience as a secretary or in an equivalent administrative position is required. Applicants must have experience on MS Office (Ms Outlook, Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms PowerPoint) and working experience on Pastel will be an added advantage.
  • The Group Assistant will be responsible for preparing internal memorandums as and when required, sourcing of quotes for flight, car, and accommodation for the team in compliance with Supply Chain regulations, updating the register of all training, workshops and conferences completed successfully, preparation of visa application letters and travel advances as per the travel process and payment of supplier invoices.
