Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced individuals for the Pretoria-based position of:
 
IT Assistant (Ref: ITA)
 
We are looking for an energetic, tech savy, problem solver and an agile thinking individual who will join our IT team as an IT Assistant. The WRC working modalities have shifted to that of a hybrid model which is supported by an increased use of mobile technologies and cloud services. The IT Assistant will ensure that end users are connected and that the necessary tools and platforms are in place to enhance collaboration and peak performance across the business.
 
The IT Assistant will be a member of the Corporate Services Branch reporting to the Infrastructure

 
Manager. As part of the IT team you will be the WRC’s IT product champion and will be responsible for providing proactive consultative support. This will include researching and advising on new technologies and tools aimed at streamlining business processes, enhancing performance and flexibility within our hybrid working model. In addition you will recommend new IT solutions and guide users through various IT features and functionalities whilst offering excellent support to end users who are predominantly working remotely.

The ideal candidate must be in possession of a CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent IT NQF level 4 qualification whilst a MCSE (Cloud Platform and Infrastructure) qualification is preferred. In addition, 3 years’ experience in Information Technology Network administration and helpdesk support is required. Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Windows Server Technologies, Office 365, Active Directory, Backup & Restore Technologies, Virtualization (Hyper-V, VMWARE) and Cloud Hosting Services (AZURE) is essential.
