The Vaal University of Technology (VUT), established in 1966, has grown in both stature and size as a leading higher education institution, attracting students from across South Africa and the continent. It is one of the largest residential universities of technology in southern Gauteng, with approximately 20,000 students.
The Council of VUT is the governing body of the University and is responsible, as part of its fiduciary duty, for determining the institution’s strategic direction. Two vacancies have arisen on the Council for members appointed on the basis of their expertise and experience: one (1) in the field of Human Resources and one (1) in the field of Law. This notice serves as a formal call for nominations to fill these vacancies.
 
Nominated candidates must have:
a. A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or Law.
b. At least 10 years working experience as well as board/council membership experience.
c. Membership of a professional body (which) will be an added advantage, and
d. Be committed and available to serve VUT fully as a Council member and as a member of the VUT subcommittees, as determined by the Council from time to time.
Each nomination must include:
  1. A completed and signed nomination form confirming acceptance of the nomination.
  2. A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae of the nominee.
  3. Certified copies of all qualifications. 
  4. A certified copy of the nominee’s ID.
  5. Current contact details of at least two referees.
