The Business Analyst will be responsible for understanding the needs of business and assist in identifying solutions to business problems using Business Analysis tools and Techniques. This includes process improvement, root cause analysis and producing specification documents. The Business Analyst will also manage projects and produce data analytic reports.
 
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
• Act as mediator between IT and the clients.
• Gathering end user requirements.
• Generation of reports for clients from (ITS system, Service desk plus).
• Gather requirements as per information request.
• Gathering user requirements as per request.
• Develop technical requirements for the development team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The main purpose of this position is teaching and learning, research and community engagement and to provide support to the department/faculty in pursuit of its academic objectives. Responsibilities may also include curriculum development, student academic development, quality assurance and academic management and administration to contribute to the academic initiatives undertaken by the department/faculty.
 
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
• Compile work schemes in collaboration with colleagues

Qualifications and Experience:
• Doctoral degree (or NQF level 10 equivalent) in Physics is recommended
• At least 5 years work experience in key areas of teaching and learning theory and practice in a higher education context

• Contribution in research and publication record in the last 3 years
• Sound record of student supervision in the last 3 years

To lead the development, delivery, and quality assurance of academic programmes within the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, including postgraduate teaching, research supervision, and coordination of strategic development initiatives under the F’SASEC (French South African Schneider Electric Centre). The incumbent will play a key role in driving curriculum innovation, academic excellence, and industry-aligned programme development.
 
Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
• Design, review, and enhance curricula and qualifications in line with institutional, HEQSF, SAQA, and CHE requirements.
• Develop new, industry-responsive qualifications aligned with national development priorities.
• Lecture and assess advanced theoretical modules at Master’s level, ensuring content is research-informed and current.

• Academic leadership – Teach and assess students at undergraduate
• Research – Undertake post-graduate research in field of specialisation.
• Industry relationship building – Liaise with industry including consultation work/collaborative research and plan.
• Community engagement – Participate in community flagship programme/projects.
• Internal process – Conduct ad-hoc duties as assigned by the line-manager.
• Administration and reporting
 
Qualification and Experience:
• Master’s degree in a Photography-related field of study.
• Minimum of two (2) years of teaching and learning in Higher Education.
• Relevant research experience will be a recommendation.
• Industrial or practice experience recommended
 
Skills and Competencies:
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, excellent teaching skills, planning and organising skills, conceptual skills, analytical ability, interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills

• Research – Undertake post-graduate research in field of specialisation, provide accredited research outputs and undertake post-graduate supervision and examination.
• Industry relationship building – Liaise with industry including consultation work/collaborative research and plan.
• Community engagement – Participate in community flagship programme/projects.
• Administration – Conduct student and academic administration and reporting duties in line with responsibility
