Review and Manage Benefit Structures, Salary Structures, Salary Discrepancies, and Study Support
• Regularly review and evaluate the effectiveness of VUT's benefit programs.
• Develop and maintain a fair and equitable salary structure (pay scales).
• Investigate and resolve salary discrepancies to ensure fairness and equity.
• Manage the administration of study support programs for employees.
Establish, Maintain, and Collaborate on the Rewards for Performance and Recognition Scheme. Manage, Control Job Evaluation
• Develop and implement a robust reward for performance scheme.
• Establish and manage recognition programs to acknowledge employee achievements.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of performance and recognition programs with organizational goals.
• Conduct regular job evaluations to ensure accurate job classifications and fair compensation.
Manage Staff in the Remuneration and Benefits Section
• Provide leadership and guidance to the Remuneration and Benefits team.
• Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews for team members.
• Identify training needs and provide opportunities for professional development.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the team.

Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications: Post-graduate degree in Human Resources Management/Industrial psychology field or Commerce (Accounting) or a related field
Experience: 5 years experience in the HRM field, of which;
3 years experience is in Remuneration or Rewards field
Added advantage
• Certified Global remuneration professional (GRP)
• Registered with SARA as a Reward specialist or above
• Working at management level /Senior specialist
Skills and competencies:

Key performance areas include but are not limited to:
• Develop Wellness and Employee Assistance Programme (EWP/EAP) strategies and Frameworks that compliment the overall HRM Strategy and People Philosophy of VUT
• Implement wellness interventions based upon identified needs within the organisation
• Ensure that all wellness initiatives contribute towards the operationalizing of the overall Employee Value Proposition
• Participate in the Wellness Committees and Forums to facilitate the successful implementation of wellness initiatives and programmes
• Provide monthly and quarterly reports on wellness statistics
• Coordinate and promote wellness initiatives in partnership with other stakeholders
• Conduct workshops on selected wellbeing issues and obtain feedback on existing programmes
• Coordinate wellbeing services which cover the whole spectrum of individual wellbeing components as defined by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and others, e.g. Psycho-social, Physical Health etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Key performance areas include but not limited to:
• Academic leadership – Teach and assess at undergraduate/postgraduate levels; Develop curriculum in applicable field of specialisation, influence the development, maintenance and control in field of specialisation.
• Research – Undertake post-graduate research in field of specialisation, provide accredited research outputs and undertake post-graduate supervision and examination
• Industry relationship building – Liaise with industry including consultation work/collaborative research and plan
• Community engagement – Participate in community flagship programme/projects.
• Administration – Conduct student and academic administration and reporting duties in line with responsibility
• Internal process – Conduct ad-hoc duties as assigned by the line-manager.
APPLICATION CRITERIA:
Qualification and Experience:
• A completed Doctorate (For Senior Lecturer) or Masters (For Lecturer) in relevant field of specialisation, Nutrition, Hospitality or Food Service Management.
• Minimum of six (6) years teaching and learning, or at least six (6) years industrial or practice experience for Senior Lecturer,
• Minimum of two years teaching/industry experience for Lecturer position.
• Willing to complete PhD within 5 years of being appointed as a Lecturer
• The candidate should be familiar with Hospitality and Food Service Management
• Relevant research experience will be a recommendation.
• Disabled candidates will not be excluded.
Skills:
Excellent communication and presentation skills, excellent teaching skills, planning and organising skills, conceptual skills, analytical ability, interpersonal skills and problem-solving skills.
