Duties and responsibilities:
• Contribute towards creating a strong academic identity for the Communication Science Department.
• Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Communication Science.
• Provide study guidance and supervision to final year and postgraduate students.
• Initiate and conduct high-level research and sustain quality research outputs.
• Active participation and involvement in applicable UFS management structures.
• Contribute to programme development and curriculum review within the Department and Faculty.
• Participate in community engagement initiatives.
• Recruit senior students for postgradutae studies.

• Introduce and teach in a specific Communication Science specialization that can contribute to the faculty’s academic streams.
Inherent Job requirements:
Lecturer
• A PhD in Communication Science or cognate /related discipline on NQF Level 10 (for a permanent appointment).

• Master’s degree in Communication Science or cognate/ related discipline on NQF Level 9 (contract appointment: five years during which a PhD in Communication Science or cognate/related discipline on NQF Level 10 MUST be obtained to be converted to a permanent position).
• A minimum of three (3) years lecturing experience in Communication Science at a tertiary institution.
• Proven experience in the delivery of poster or oral presentations at conferences or equivalent activities.
• Evidence of manuscripts produced that have the potential to be converted or submitted for publication in accredited journals.
• A good academic record (attach).
Senior Lecturer
• A PhD in Communication Science or cognate /related discipline on NQF Level 10 (for a permanent appointment).
• A minimum of five (5) years of lecturing experience in Communication Science at a tertiary institution.
• Proven experience in the presentation of papers/posters at national scholarly conferences.
• Proven national recognition for specialist expertise and research in a specific area of scholarship.
• An NRF rating or demonstrate potential for obtaining an NRF rating within reasonable time.
• Proven experience in supervision of graduated master’s and PhD students.
• A proven research record of relevant publications in national and international accredited journals.
• Proven experience of service as an active member of a national or international scholarly society or committee or agency concerned with research at higher education levels.
Recommendations:

Duties and responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities:
• Operate and maintain different analytical equipment in the Chemistry department, which includes ICP-OES/MS, TGA, DSC, porosity analyzer, and XRD powder diffractometer.
• Analyse chemical and material samples for the researchers, post-graduate students, post doctoral fellows, graduate students, researchers of other departments on campus, and industrial and commercial collaborators
• Train post-graduate students on equipment operations
• Provide Safety support as a member of the Safety Committee

• Responsible for regular stock taking of essential chemicals and monitor equipment.

Inherent requirements:
